Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I have a problem with it being reported in the Daily Mail.

Are we to beleive it's done (or nearly) as they say as this is good for us?

And then not beleive that they say that United want Stones as this is bad for us?

Spot on. Believe the positve stuff but ignore negative bits seems the order of transfer windows.

All about if Mirallas stays really.
Forgot Mirallas! That's another wide right option and Oviedo is an option wide left.

At the danger of repeating myself, sign Deulofeu, then move on to centre half and number 10.

Another wide player doesn't become a priority.

If Lennon's price drops to a level we can afford after we've signed players for those other positions, then by all means go for it.

I would just find it strange to sign Deulofeu for 3 million (as cheap as that is), and then go and splash 6ish million on Lennon who plays the same position.

We all know money will be tight rightly or wrongly, so make sure first and foremost we sign a centre half and a number 10.

Surely that's more of a priority than adding Lennon to Deulofeu if he signs?

He looks more consistent but can't see end product...skins one or two players....easily...then misplaces the cross
Still, he offers a lot more in teamwork than Deulofeu first time around and as he probably ever will. Absolutely nothing against Deulofeu coming in, as the huge potential is there for everyone to see. It's just sometimes teamwork is more vital than flair. Deulofeu and Mirallas can be hugely frustrating on an off day and I'm a fan of both, especially Mirallas.

Lets be honest there are big question marks in regard to whether he is an automatic starter - he still has miles to go in his development: in terms of decsion making, team approach and being effective for 90 mins, never mind every week.

Its a decent investment for the reported price and his potential is there for all to see if he develops the right way, but hes far away from being an automatic starter if his development has stalled since he was last with us.

Not sure I believe the Mail story but there is a difference in the above two examples. The Mail is reporting that we're set to complete the signing of Deulofeu as if it could be in advanced stages. The Stones interest from United is understandable and tells us nothing that we don't already know. Of course they will be interested in him. As will a load of other clubs and we're just going to have to accept that. Doesn't mean he is going this season though as it would take a ridiculous bid to get him. £30m+ or something. English talent, years left on his contract, has a good relationship with the manager etc.

Was going to post something similar. United wanting Stones? Well I believe that completely, why wouldn't they?

Hardly a surprise. They don't however, say in the Stones article that United are about to complete a deal, that's the difference.

So hardly a case of believing the positive story and dissing the negative.

For what it's worth, I believe both stories.

Maybe not the Deulofeu price, but I believe we'll sign him and I also believe Man United have an interest in Stones.
