Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I have a problem with it being reported in the Daily Mail.

Are we to beleive it's done (or nearly) as they say as this is good for us?

And then not beleive that they say that United want Stones as this is bad for us?

Quite a few clubs will be interested in Stones. The difference is that Barcelona seem to be open to offers for taking a player off their books who doesn't figure in their plans whereas Stones is central to our plans.

The Mail is fairly high on the jargometer though.

Sign him up please. Can terrorise defences, can break like lightening, can be infuriating. He still has to learn what Barkley has to learn and that is decision making but I am sure it will come for both of them and have 2 major threats on our hands. Fingers crossed.

Was going to post something similar. United wanting Stones? Well I believe that completely, why wouldn't they?

Hardly a surprise. They don't however, say in the Stones article that United are about to complete a deal, that's the difference.

So hardly a case of believing the positive story and dissing the negative.

For what it's worth, I believe both stories.

Maybe not the Deulofeu price, but I believe we'll sign him and I also believe Man United have an interest in Stones.

Yeah I agree. Also, if you believe the stories, we're going to lose Mirallas, Barkley, Stones, McCarthy and Lukaku this summer as all the bigger and better clubs than Everton are in for them. I reckon 1 will go at the most and even then I'm not too worried.

Back to the Deuloefu rumour though, i'd love him back. There were games when he was abysmal and frustrating like Southampton away but he gives us that pace and attacking threat we need. I also want us to bring Lennon in permanently for his pace and the cover he gives to the full back. The cover is something Deulofeu isn't as good at so it would be good to have them both for different reasons.

Ok. I'll take the hit on Stones. As people have said, who wouldn't want Stones?!

But we immediately didn't beleive it when the Mail spoke about McCarthy wanting to leave either.

I've just noticed some people seem to beleive the good things and disbelieve the bad.

Evertonians mate, but the other way around.

Was Del Boy really good,or are people getting a bit misty eyed over him, serious question.

Showed potential but by no means the finished article. Hence why he's been passed from pillar to post by Barcelona. If 3 million is actually right then, barring some horrendous injury, we can't really lose. Spending that sort of money on a squad player with potential makes a lot of sense.

Can we afford to sign both? Lennon is ready now and can do a good job for us. Del boy is a gamble and is like barkley, full of potential. Sometimes we carry Barkley, can we carry del boy as well.

There were times last season when McCarthy looked very fed up. If one of the CL clubs came in for him at the right price I suspect he'd be off, but that's for a different thread

Most top clubs should want stones, he that good but stones need to play first team football so hopefully the clubs will leave him be for now.
