He's (seen as) not that good, or rather, he's not played all that well. In fact the best he's ever shown was for us...arguably. Like the afore-mentioned Pienaar, Del might be one of those players who just belong with us.

Don't infer that personally. Though it is a bit ambiguous, I think he's really saying 'if'.
I read it like this...

Unless a more reliable source picks up on it, which normally means they've actually done a bit of investigating to see if there's anything in it, it's just a recycled story. If someone like the Guardian or the Independent run with it then it'd look like the story was defo true.

I do think McGeady is an okay option off the bench, but if we were able to essentially swap him for Lennon id take it.

Use McGeady to either get Van Dijk on the cheap, or to raise funds to get a playmaker or a striker.

Yeah, probably a breeding ground for Barca B players, seeing as they were recently relegated? I wouldn't be upset with 1 Barca B player a year on loan, they tend to have some decent talent, and they get to see if the player is ready to compete in a competitive league.

None of our players are good enough for them so I don't see what the disadvantage would be.
