Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

We really should have been this season and last. Liverpool almost made it without a strike force. Massive massive underachievement. We've easily got the squad for fourth but shoot ourselves in the foot so that there's no chance of it happening, then when the pressure is off we'll absolutely blow away some top 4 team. Ridiculous.
We should have strengthened last season ..... on top of the loan signings we made permanent. We basically just brought in Besic. Also we lost our fitness coach ....... which is a big bug bear of mine........... I think that cost us dearly.

So if this does come off and we don't sell all our best players like the media hope then I see no excuse for a poor season next season. Our starting 11 could possibly be:

-------------------Robles------------------

Coleman-----Jagielka---Stones----Baines

Deulofeu-----McCarthy----Besic-----Mirallas

------------------Barkley---------------------

-------------------Lukaku---------------------

I'd like us to bring in Lennon too and i'm also not convinced McCarthy and Besic can play together so we could do with a creative centre midfielder too. I'm hoping Barkley can start making progress in a central role next season though.
Martinez doesn't play 2 traditional wingers outwide though.

He likes a winger on one side and a midfielder on the other.

coleman jags stones baines
McCarthy cleverly
deulofeu barkley mirallas
lukaku

that would be a cracking team if they pull their fingers out

Cleverley isn't a holding midfielder. He's been absolute muck anytime he's played there.
He's a number 10... would actually prefer to see Barkley playing deeper. Failing that, I reckon Besic is going to get more games next season.

Also, I reckon we'll sell Mirallas. Podolski would be the likely incoming winger, with the rest of the cash going towards strengthening other areas like that Ragnar Klavan guy at CB.

I think Mirallas will be gone and replaced by a creative midfielder, and it does indeed look like a very serious team.
Moreso, when you have a subs bench of : Gibson,Oviedo, McGeady, Naismith, Barry,Osman and Pienaar.

he'll prob be left on the bench for most of the season anyway Even if he signs, whilst Naismith or Osman And Mcgeady are used weekly out wide like last time he was here.

It looks exciting, but there is no one there who can actually dictate play the way, for example, Cazorla does.

And Coleman and Baines are going to be horribly exposed behind Deulofeu and Mirallas, giving them little opportunity to go forward.

So, from our existing resources, we would certainly need to play one of Cleverley, Gibson, Osman and Pienaar, and perhaps we should play two of them.
