Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Howard
Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
McCarthy Besic
Deulofeu Barkley Mirallas
Lukaku
1-4-2-3-1 formation.

Arranged like this, you can see this puts Mirallas in front of Baines and Deulofeu in front of Coleman. Neither is going to give the full back much support. This will either restrict their attacking or leave us open to counter attack.

Martinez has based his tactics upon his attacking fullbacks, and would almost certainly pick a midfielder in place of one of them, if not both. Nor is there a mid field general to dictate the play, while Mirallas, Barkley and Deulofeu are not the most willing of passers. Martinez can pick from Cleverley, Gibson, Osman and Pienaar.

Mirallas won't be playing for us, and if you think Besic and McCarthy will be partnering up any time soon, you woefully misunderstand Martinez. Deulofeu will be backup to Lennon if we get him. He'll be used as sparingly as he was in his first season here and will have to work hard to nail down a regular place.

Groucho.
Mirallas shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Kanchelkis, there is no comparision between them.
I remember Everton wingers as far back as Johnny Morrissey and there have been surprisingly few that have been remembered after their career finished but I think of Dave Thomas and possibly Limpar.

Mirallas is a good player but will be forgotten by Evertonians in a very short time imo
What about the great Tommy "Flash" Eglington?
