If this was a player without any connection with us then would probably share your worry.
But Gerard and Mari seemed to genuinely enjoy their time at Everton and it probably looks even better in retrospect given the difficult Sevilla loan. Think Gerard really wants this deal and usually if a player has their mind made up then it happens one way or another.
