Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

JUST SIGN

Haha honestly this is the most relaxed I've been about an Everton transfer ever.

The situation is obvious - Barca can't give him football, the lad has point blank refused a loan, and he's only interested in signing for Everton as he has realised that he needs to be in a place he feels comfortable to flourish at this stage of his career.

Bayern Munich could come in at this stage and I wouldn't be worried at all. The decision on this one was made as early as January - it's as close to being a dead cert of a transfer as you can get. I'd put everything I own on Deulofeu being in an Everton shirt by the start of the season; it's a case of when, not if.

I know, I'm more than confident he's signed as well, it's just the blind panic on this forum changes me sometimes

Barca could turn around and say no at least until after the election. Toni Freixa has basically used his situation as a stick to beat the other guy with. The other guy might be quickly saying no to this for fear of the political fallout.

btw - I wish I was on a wind up.

It's actually at times like this @FCBarça might be useful.

Nope. He commented on the failure of La Masia; stopping Deulofeu would achieve nothing unless he played regularly for some reason, which simply isn't going to happen. They've already signed the squad player that Deulofeu would have been in Aleix Vidal.

Not. A. Chance. He's an Everton player. As soon as Vidal was signed, this deal was essentially done and dusted. All we've been waiting for is Deulofeu to finish his holiday and contractual stuff to be ironed out.

There's not a prayer this doesn't go through IMO. I get why Evertonians are pessimistic, as it's Everton at the end of the day, but this is a situation where it really is undue pessimism. Barring Kenwright walking in the room and chinning Deulofeu's bird, it's done.

@Tubey I take your point and this is one where I definitely hope you are right.

It's just a fear. You know how politics is. They wouldn't think twice about using him as a pawn.

Lets face it, him leaving Barcelona is their equivalent to Chelsea moving Atsu on.

Great fun for us, but a side show for them.

How would he be useful?

Hes a swiss american, who has the same access to google as any of us.
He knows about the political breakdown of Barca and the people involved in the election and who if either are currently in control of signing off transfers.

In much the same way as we know alot about the internal workings of our board.

Not really mate, not sure anybody at Chelsea and any hopes for Atsu and besides, hes only on loan.

Gezza was highly regarded at Barca, they had big hopes for him, I honestly think, considering the supposed buyouts, they still harbour a hope.
