Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I know it's been mostly debunked but the whole him being in the worst team of the season is shocking; to give you a nice comparison, I saw one football website put Besic in their worst team, basically because of one sole backheel. Appalling.

Anyone else think Gerard is our new European No. 10?

LW - Clev, Pienaar, Oviedo
10 - Gerard, Barkley, Osman
RW - Kev, Lennon, McGeady

I'd take that.

CM options - McCarthy, Barkley, Besic, Barry, Clev, Osman, Baines

Could Deulofeu wear No12?

Is there a reason why 12 never gets used?
Could be two things, it was a sub goalie's number when numbers were logical in the near past and in Europe they like to retire the number as the fans are the 12th man.
"Fenerbahce, RC Lens, Bayern Munich, Feyenoord, Portsmouth, Dynamo Kiev, Lazio or Zenith St. Petersburg are some of the clubs where the number 12 has been permanently withdrawn to pay tribute to the loyalty of supporters."

Yet the ability to influence matches remains apparent; the potential is clear and plentiful for a player blessed with a happy knack of creating assists at a rapid rate, despite restricted playing time -- Deulofeu ended his two season-long loans at Everton and Sevilla with the best minutes-per-assist rate in the team.

Only Carlos Bacca delivered more league assists in a Sevilla shirt last season (six) and Deulofeu's five assists arrived at a team-best rate of one every 157 minutes. Those figures compare favourably to his new (old) teammates -- only Leighton Baines registered more assists, and no Everton player created assists at a faster rate.

Similar figures accompanied his first stint on Merseyside, with the then 19-year-old returning three goals and three assists in only 895 minutes of football -- equal to less than 10 full games. The three assists materialised at a team-best rate of one every 298 minutes.
Just think how good he'll be when he learns its a team game ;)

Hopefully being a permanent player and having a settled manager who trusts him will help foster that.

You never want a player to get too comfortable that they have a guaranteed spot but equally feeling you have to do something spectacular to get noticed is probably not ideal in making you pass to a slightly better positioned teammate.

Right now I could happily shag his arse.
