If it was massive and contained a poor effort to be witty, then I'd agree it would be cringeworthy.

But as it was a small message from a fan or two, I don't reckon it's that bad.

It's only truly cringeworthy if he leaves in a year or two and a viral video pops up of an overweight fan burning the banner and reciting a poem that includes the slant rhyme Deulofeu/Never thought you'd go.

Of course, Damo is entitled to opine. However, one thing I love about Everton is that its supporters are not absolute bells. Seeing that Del poster is a game changer for me. That is the most cringe-worthy thing I have ever seen from a Blue. It has left me a little upset that an Evertonian was capable of doing that

I have to agree that that was right up there on the cringe scale. The banner has been taken down now, so you can relax a little
