@GregOK: Deulofeu couldn't get his head around what he was being asked to do and had to be reminded. It'll take time for him to adapt.

@GregOK: He is 19 and is used to playing in a different formation at Barcelona, where he's been since he was six! #EFCUSA

TBH Mick, I only readt the twitter reports. seems he started well, on the right with some nice touches, and flicks. then he picked the ball up on about 43 minutes and turned inside when he was told to go outside. Martinez told him that he had no idea what he was doing, Deulofeu then stopped in his track, walked over to Martinez and offered him out, saying, "Once I've finished with you, I'll lay out your Da and leather your Ma". Martinez didn't take too kindly to this, so said that if he said it again, then he'd sub him. It all came to a head on 56 minutes when Deulofeu asked for Martinez's parents address. They were seen having a charged confrontation on the stadium concourse afterwards where Deulofeu was spotted brandishing an axe.

Fortunately for Martinez, Stubbs stepped in.

There are fears about the attitude of this lad.

He played for 60 mins and showed glimpses.

Hard to judge as this was his first game in over a month and was played in oppressive humidity. He looked absolutely spent by half time.

Basically hugged the sideline and didn't track back a great deal. Lacking both match fitness and sharpness, so the jury is out but for me he looks the business. Needs time to settle and get conditioned, the boy could be anything.

Amazing until the Stubbs bit. He's in Spain I think.

Who is this Martinez fella, is he Stubbs' assistant manager?
 

Deulofeu is pretty cocky and will annoy people this season with his attitude, but you will see plenty of excitement like his burst through the defence last night.

I've watched him here plenty for Barca B, and live a couple times and he is a primadonna for sure, but he will track back at times and fight to get the ball....just not always. Also I don't think that when Martinez plays him, that he will expect him to.

One thing surprised me in the short time he has played so far is his crossing. All been very good but nobody to take advantage of them. He took two corners in a row last time and both were dropped in perfectly around the penalty spot.

We used to score a lot from set pieces and maybe with Kev and Deulofeu mixing it up from it always being Baines we will see an improvement.

Was annoying to see Vic moaning at him when a couple of his centres were blocked by defenders. Hate his moany face. You're getting paid to play football.....smile!
