You do realise the slow introduction of Gerard this season was because of a hamstring injury that meant he missed much of preseason - preseason that was especially important for his fitness since Barca/Sevilla had messed him around so much that he had barely played a minute since February?

A bad hamstring injury made him miss two months of playing time in his first stint in blue as well and noticeably wrecked his confidence for a while on his return, Martinez would have been an idiot to dump him straight into a tough league risking the same thing happening just so you couldn't moan about his match time.

he/she's a moron. They know pretty much jack about the situation, yet keep banging on the drum about it being a loan. I've read about 20 posts now where they've said it's a loan and done it on about 3 or 4 forums to boot. It's okay for people to admit they were wrong sometimes which is exactly what's happened here.
