I would say ŷes they would want him back then, Zat.

And two years down the line, at this rate of improvement, I imagine he will be a starter in most Barca games.

Messi will have turned 30 by the time the 2017/18 season gets underway and I think it safe to assume his best days will be behind him.

Barca might see Gerald ad Lionel's successor.

Do you think at the end of next season if he continues like this then Barca would want him back?

I do....

However, do you think he would go back there if he thought he would get limited game time off the bench?

I dont...

Each to their own but i think he will know he needs regular games and will want to make a real name for himself in the prem before moving back to Barca.

I think he would reject moves to anyone else in the prem as he knows with us he gets regular games and obviously loves having Martinez as manager....

I'd say we may have something to worry about when he's about 25...dont forget theyve only just signed 2 wingers for January and unless 3 out of 4 of these players arent performing in 1.5 ish seasons he's not getting in the side.

He's gone back to Barca in summer, if you think that shower of horrible carnts won't have him back, loan him somewhere else and sell him for £20m ASAP you're mental.

They cant though. If they take him back he has to be in the first team squad for a year before they can sell him, so if they decide to do that while his stock is high with no intention to actually play him regularly then his progress will come to a sudden halt and teams may not want to pay £20 mill for a player who hasnt played much football for a year.

But I guarantee they'd pay more than £6m for a lad who's playing in cup games, la Liga vs naff teams and off the back of a season like he's having now. All I'm saying is I don't trust anyone in footy anymore, so let's not get too attached until he's defo ours.

Possibly (probably) after the second year (whereby the buy back option expires). But if Everton Football Club pulls its finger out of its (rude word),and starts winning things, Geri might (might), tell them to do one. To large degree, the ball is in Everton's court...they need to do a Djocovic overhead smash as opposed to a (typically) Everton double fault.

Exactly right, we win a trophy this year where he is instrumental and he says no thanks, I don't fancy being third or fourth fiddle at barca.

Spot on mate. As I figuratively alluded to in my tennis metaphor, Everton controls this rally for the moment. WE MUST NOT BOTTLE IT!
