i agree with @The Esk. Diving needs to swerve.

Theres a difference between toughening up and having a snide in the tackle etc, but the diving , screaming around like he's been shot / like a little girl is just stupid, he acted like a spoiled kid against Leicester, and it ruined his game.

But he is a young lad, and hopefully they're coaching that out of him, because it seems when he gets frustrated it doesn't make him better like some players, it makes him far worse.

Or we should just start doing it too.

Don't get me wrong mate. In an ideal world you are absolutely correct in what you say. All that sort of thing should just not happen.

But it's not an ideal world and football certainly isn't an ideal sport anymore.

Everton need to more clever with things. We've been too nice for so long I've had enough.

On the diving, I'm not bothered that Deulofeu does it. Just think he needs to be better at it.

.....I know where your coming from ijjy but I prefer us to have a bit more class. The likes of Jagielka is a good example, top pro who you rarely see getting involved in that side of the game. I thought we were great in Europe, no rolling on the floor no histrionics. Others benefit from it but let them.

I honestly wish we could win being nice mate. But it doesn't happen sadly.

And just to be a right pain, I wish Jags got more in the refs face if I'm being totally honest.

God I'm a terrible human sometimes!

....no your not. We need to have a togetherness and fighting spirit, similar to the mid-80s side but we can do that and play in the right way.

....it's not only the diving, it's the absolute fundamentals that need to be sorted. Almost every player appeals for throw even if it's obvious they had the last touch. It just seems accepted behaviour and that could surely be stamped out.

Also, certain teams definitely have a strategy to pressurise referees. This needs to be highlighted and stamped out. I really think lots of this is achievable.

Totally agree!

Post match carding for cheating or overly aggressive behaviour to the ref would make things settle down very quickly.
As soon as Chelsea or Liverpool couldn't field a team of seniors for example because they were all banned for a game or two, and the FA held firm with the punishment without showing the remorse the clubs would demand, the cheating would stop.

Great post, would love to see that brought in (and more in game technology). LFC would never win anything again, would be the end of the cheating pile of horse manure.

working the ref is an important part of the game from grass roots up, but i'm afraid it's another thing our manager seems to frown upon, like trying a decent corner routine.

The thing is, Deulofeu isn't getting the calls unless he does throw himself onto the ground. Unless referees start actually calling fouls and penalties when the attacker stays on his feet and tries to ride the tackle, there's absolutely no reason for them not to hurl themselves to the ground as soon as contact is made.

Look at the penalties Saturday. If Okazaki stays on his feet, that would have just gone behind for a goal kick, but because he fell to the deck the referee called a penalty. What attacker is going to look at that play and think he should ever just try to ride a tackle and keep going? Similar on the second one: Vardy could have easily vaulted Howard and gotten the ball, but he knew he would win a penalty if he allowed the contact to happen and went down. There's just no incentive to to stay on your feet.
