i don't think he's anywhere near a good enough finisher to be a striker, especially not in the premier league. a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer - very very similar to the view that walcott is not a striker. Deulofeu is an assist king, he can play wide attacker whipping great balls from the flank and he can play through balls right through the centre. You'd lose his best attributes with him as a striker. He would cause a lot of problems though with his pace, without a doubt, no harm in trying things.

Personally think he is so good at providing crosses from out wide that he is a bit wasted in the central role, he often moves inside anyhow when we are on a fast break.

Don't think he is physical enough to be regularly a striker but played pretty well there today.

Would be wasted as a striker hope he isn't being earmarked as our 2nd choice forward. Will be more interesting to see if Koeman is looking to convert him into a Mane/long type player who technically played out wide but would almost operate as a 2nd striker out on the pitch.

So Koeman said, which makes you think he has been aware of him for a whilst already, then again with the Barca connections that's no shock whatsoever, no idea where he plays for the Under 21 spain side though

Deul playing off Lukaku is how I'd imagine it, never know. He did well playing centrall most of the game, needs to sharpen up his finishing if he is going to be central though.

I think it's a good idea to give him time there in the friendlies. Hopefully it will get his confidence up.
