They were pretty good together when he was on loan....also for me defending a lead should mean having players with quality ready to counter...based on solid defence.

When you need a winger who will back up the full back because we're being over run as opposed to when you need a winger to pin back the oppo full back because we need to stretch them.

Deulofeu is in that mould...thats what i want to watch.

Personally i'd stick cleverley next to McCarthy and Barkley ahead for now (as no real number 10).

Of the wide players we have i only really rate Deulofeu...just cant see why Martinez didnt recycle a few players there in the summer and instead went for for lennon.

Would be nice to see another Deulofeu on the left to be honest...really go and attack teams which is what Martinez said before about the attacking players not defending as much and really being able to focus on attacking.

Not saying we go all out attack but with 2 defensive midfielders we should be able to play two pure attacking wingers.

Why has Deulofeu stopped running at his FB?

Why don't we ever play the ball inside or over the top of the FBs for our wingers to use their pace to run on to? When we're in possession the wingers always come short to collect a pass instead of asking for it to be played over the top.

Because defenders aren't getting tight to him. Instead they back off so not to commit.
He's combating this perfectly by putting in early, dangerous crosses.

Precisely this...if Lukaku can charge into the box instead of holding his ground then this will be very effective.

Not sure where you're going with this argument mate. You said there were no scenarios where Lennon would play instead of Deulofeu. There clearly are. No idea why you've started talking about Barkley as a 10 and Cleverley next to McCarthy. You're bonkers.
