Gerard Deulofeu

He looks scared of doing the things we know he can do, seems to want to do the easy thing and play the percentage ball.

Confidence looks shot....

Same with Barkley, I see the pattern emerging, This country has always been scared of maverick, skillful, I guess you can call them 'luxury' players and it gets coached out of them.

Just give these lads the ball and let them do what they do best. Dropping them in and out of the side isn't helpful either, they'll never gain consistency, although in the case of Ross the run of games didn't help because every breath he takes is scrutinised and he's absolutely petrified to do anything he normally does.

yep, people do 5 good things and 1 bad things, yet this country has a tendency to remember the 1 bad thing more. Bolasie was our only threat yesterday, yet people are lambasting him for supposedly losing us the game, because he lost his footing

He's a headless chicken mate... the amount of times he ran into his own player was un true... he trips over the ball a lot and confuses both the opposition and our own players.

100% agree

I thought he had a good game. Wasn't wasteful in possession and we definitely went up a gear after his introduction.

Disappointed he didn't put in earlier crosses. He gets double teamed every time he gets the ball but our movement is so poor there's never an extra man. That said his inability to beat a man is starting to worry me. It looks like he has no confidence.

Frankly I'm starting to turn on Koeman. We don't play as a team. The amount of times my commentator said either there was no movement or no one in the box is unreal. It was the same under Martinez towards the end but you would by now expect Koeman to have improved us. I think we are just as awful as the 2nd half of last season. For the money we are paying Koeman I would expect something more.

He needs a run of games as a starter as his confidence looks shot....the rest look non plussed as well.

Definitely agree on this. He needs a run of games to build his confidence.
Last season that happened and he went on a brilliant run of assists.

When he first joined his performances reminded me of adama for Boru at Arsenal.

Now Adama suffers a bit from the early flaws of Deulofeu with us regarding being a team player.

Deulofeu a bit like Barkley is being coached to fix this and that's not necessarily a bad thing but with both of them at the moment I feel the balance isn't right. Now it might just be part of his development and like Barkley we will reap the rewards for in years to come but in the meantime I hope we don't kill what's special about both.

Better to just focus on his fitness and let the rest come naturally imo.

He looked amazing 12months ago and should be getting games, how mirallas is in the team is beyond me.
