Gerard Deulofeu

Unfortunately his inconsistency coupled with the video crack down on diving would make him an even more ephemeral luxury next season.
For me the comparison someone else made at the time of Davies's goal v citeh sums him up . They pointed out that if it had been Deulofeu making that run he'd have been alright until the challenge that knocked him on his backside, whereas Tom got right back up to receive the pass and score, Del would have stayed sat on the ground futilely waving his arm in the air.

There are not many wingers that are consistent, unless you're going to pay £80m for a Ronaldo or Bale, however, there are not many players who have potential match winner in their locker, which Del has in abundance.

There were games after he left, such as West Ham away where I thought the game was crying out for him. I dont see him as a starter week in week out, but as a squad player and someone to have on the bench, I'd keep him

I agree with the sentiment that you need someone like Geri who can impact a game with a change of pace. You put him in those situations and chances are he can turn it around. It doesn't change the fact that he hasn't seized the opportunities he has had. I also agree with many that DCL should not have received the starts that he was gifted, but he worked a lot harder than Geri and had more impact on the game defensively. Geri lost possession frequently and had no impact defensively which made him virtually useless in most games. Hopefully he isn't one of those players we have to 'sell to buy' and he can get his act together because I love his dipping crosses. He has great technique as well as pace which will be vital in Europe.

Think it'd be a bit daft of us to sell him when our need for squad depth is greater than ever this upcoming season. He'll do really well in the EL as he seems more suited to European footy anyways. Not like we'd get a huge amount for him either.
