Agreed, England look very decent at the moment.

If I was England manager the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Cole etc wouldn't be anywhere near the team.

They need to freshen it up, play players who want to play for the shirt.
 
A handful of them and who come on in the 2nd half will be in the 1st team by 2010.

Lampard, Barry, Ferdinand, Terry, Heskey, Gerrard, will all be hitting or over 30 by the world cup. Experience is great but we'll get done for pace big time, especially against a Spain, Portugal, Argentina or Brazil who's teams average age will be 25.
 
David pleat really is a tit.

Clive Tyldsely was explaing how if any part of an attacker with which he can play the ball is in an offside position then he is legally offside.

He then reeled off a few of said body parts, foot, knee, chest, head etc etc.

At which point Pleat butted in with a "finger". What a twerp.

England are looking damn good but you know the old boys club will be back next game.

Whilst i disagree with getting rid of the players you mentioned, i find Capello refreshing, he aint a little snide like Erikkson and he aint a coward like McLaren, the more i see "his" England play the more i like it.

The players you mentioned are class players and they should play for England, but feel while Fabio is in charge nobody will get an easy ride and he wont be afraid to change things and i think he will get the best out of these players.

I think im falling in love with my National team again. Thank you Fabio.
 
Carrick looked good. Faded a bit but could see the pass when everyone was hoofing. Downing started off ropey with some [Poor language removed] crosses before pulling it out of the bag and built confidence. Wright Philips was solid also but his delivery is woeful. Bent just kept running offside and missed a sitter. Ashley Young too just lost the ball when he came on. Agbonglahor was fine, nothing stand out though. Upson was average as.
 

I dont know why some people dont rate Carrick...Hes great, for England and United. My MoM tbh...

...Also why dont some people want to buy Downing for Everton? He constantly performs at a high level.

Still cant believe Owen, Jagielka and Beckham didnt make the team...
 
Owen isn't in the team because he doesn't fit into what Capello wants. Capello wants a striker who can link play and a striker with genuine pace that can stretch teams, Owen offers neither. He isn't that quick anymore and he has never been a link man.

Beckham offers nothing from open play. He doesn't have the legs to get up and down anymore and the games seem to pass him by despite International football being quite slow. Again Capello wants pace, he wants players who are actually going to contribute from open play.

He takes good set pieces, that's about it. He's a luxury player, nothing more nothing less.

I'm very happy both aren't playing, I'm not a big Enland fan but I like where Capello is going and what he's looking at.
 
Absolute great performance from the boys. Well deserved, an should have been more. From back to front we were far superior to them. An thats are 2nd string. The german goal was definatly terrys fault. he had plenty of time to clear it, an should have. great game to watch, well happpy.

MOM for me was a toss up between SWP an Downing. I give it to Downing. What a top LW. id love for us to sign him he's top draw.
