Getting old

How rubbish is it?

Spent all day yesterday doing jobs around the house, picking up kids toys mainly! Now my back is actual broken.

Also ive noticed that my sentence forming is getting worse, missing complete words off sentences, adding words that dont belong, just general derpisms that I never made in my younger days. I aint even gonna talk about the penis things.

Lets have a good old moan about getting old.

Young uns, pipe down.
I was laughing at this as I got out of bed and went for a oee this morning … as I reached to fly h my back went and I had to do the shuffle of shame to get myself back to the bed …. Yep getting old sucks

How you getting on with this CMC? It's worth remembering that the worsening health didn't happen overnight, so its unlikely to be so easily and quickly turned round. It could take rehabilitation and physio and a near perfect diet and and and... It's important to set realistic goals that you can work towards, there is no magic pill, it'll take time and effort and possibly suffering. You can get some level of fitness

I actually had a nurse? Come to the house yesterday from the heart and chest unit at Broadgreen as a follow-up after I was kept In about a month ago,
She was great, here over an hour and i was able to ask/quiz her about all kinds, told me I could do more exercise on my bike and use some smaller weights that I have at home so long as I don't exert myself to much which is what I wanted to hear,
This was after the consultant told me just go for a walk if you want exercise! Also going to book me onto a cardio rehab course where I get monitored while using the gym equipment, blood pressure/heart rate etc which I'm pleased about.
Felt a lot more positive after she'd gone,thanks f

Cardio rehab courses are excellent. I did them years ago after a triple bypass. Because it’s all monitored they will take you through proper warming up routines then it’s onto the equipment and let you push yourself (within the limits of the monitoring) before doing a proper cooling down session. They always kept saying that the warm up and cool down were the most important bits…good luck……

Being a similar age and having had an unexpected heart problem a few years back, I was impressed by the cardio rehabilitation system where I live.

Essentially they send you off to a rehab spa/hotel/hospital for a month where you get to eat healthily and do all kinds of sporting stuff related to your particular condition. They had a similar thing with the fitness equipment which you could use once a day and it was automatically calibrated to your specs once it scanned your card.

I also noticed that you mentioned walking. We did energetic Nordic walking for an hour outside every other day before breakfast and it got you back in shape quickly. The alternate days we did on the indoor exercise bike except it was monitored and you got to stay at a consistent pulse rate for the duration as they altered the resistance on the bike. We also had the standard fitness stuff like stretching and pilates style exercise classes.

Can't say enough good things about that month (plus the social insurance paid for almost all of it). It got me confident in my body again as the heart thing had been a big mental shock as well as physical and I hope it works out as well for you. (I was actually supposed to go back for another month - you are allowed two in every five years, I think - but COVID screwed that.)
