Getting old

That'll keep you regular for sure if anything else. I used to get all the potions out and to be honest simple vitamin drink does it. Cut the fags out years ago cut back on the booze and I've knocked caffeine on the head. I feel great to be honest, must be all the water.
Aye none of that woke nonsense aye,

On the glasses thing, I have macular degeneration in one eye that started just after I turned 50 last year. Was initially told it was likely genetic and I’d be practically blind in a few years as it progressed, however the genetic testing was negative (thank Christ). It still might get worse but it might have also just been an unlucky infection that caused it.

Anyway I now have four pairs of glasses that I’d be absolutely lost without; multi focals to use day to day, readers for books/newspapers, computer glasses for work and totally polarised distance sunglasses for driving and coping with the Australian summer.

Great getting old innit 🤣

What elective supplements are you all taking?
I take Omega 3-6-9 complex of fish, flaxseed & oil and starflower oils. (Seems to stop my knee locking up)
ABC-Z over 50’s multivitimins (terrible diet)
Ashwagandha supplements (Mrs got me into these, supposed to be calming)
Also drink a nootropic coffee alternative called mud water, containing lionsmane, reishi, turmeric & cinnamon. (The mushrooms particularly, as supposed to improve brain function immune system, turmeric good for joints)

Keep reading about NMN supplements as well, anyone tried them?

I just take centrum advance and it has worked wonders for my mental dexterity. Nothing else, magnesium helps (a lot) me to sleep when I’m restless but largely just over the counter vitamins and as much fresh food as I can manage, which isn’t really helpful if I’m being honest. Thanks for the suggestion on the nootropic - I’m a bit of a sceptic and have no idea where to start on that stuff.

I’m aiming to live to 120+ like that arl arse Peter Wayland in the Alien film. Imagine watching Everton for 120 years, what a glutton for punishment.

On a serious note, the mushroom stuff if really quite interesting, still a lot of it is anecdotal, but there have been limited studies on the benefits.
Hopefully is doesn’t turn me into one of those creatures from The Last of Us.

Absolutely fk that. If I’m still here at 60 I’ll be even more miserable. I’ll try that mud water, if just for a trial of INDI for £10 - only had one sachet and still alive.
