I posted on here a few months back I had some strange activity at an old house I used to rent following uni.

TV downstairs randomly came on middle of the night on high volume, loft hatch had unlocked and been moved open in the hallway one evening which was probably the creepiest.

Strange though as I still don't believe in ghosts/an afterlife.

So you have been encountering weird stuff but you don't believe in ghost or afterlife? Then what do you think it is? How do you make sense of it?

We are not sure what to call it if a ghost or an energy, whatever it is at my mom's house it is just not from this world.

Like I mentioned at the beginning of my post, things have been happening for years at my moms. Just weird sounds like a knock or steps in a different room, many times smells come and ago too, cigarette smell or the smell of a man's cologne we just never paid much attention to it. However, last year after my brother pissed the energy off by confronting it. It began making scratchy sounds on the windows, moving things around, a few times it slapped a table, and every night for months it will touch my brother/mum or make sound just as they were trying to sleep. During a time that shaman was doing a cleansing the ghost shush at them. Like I said the experience has traumatized my mum so bad that she wants to sell her lovely house.

This is where the belief comes in I suppose.

I would never discredit anything here but we come at it from a different angle. Many examples of people smelling things they believe should not be there, etc. Did she live in an apartment or close to other houses, there could be some explanation in that. As mentioned, the brain tells us strange things at times and that includes group experiences. If those 3 people were in different rooms and then were interviewed straight away on what exactly they heard or felt, then yes it would be weird (I would still not necessarily believe it was paranormal). For example, if person 1 feels a brush against their arm and then explains this exactly to person 2 then their brain could easily tell them they felt it as well or later on they will suddenly feel something.

These things happened to your family and it is very weird and would be pretty scary for people who do believe in the paranormal, I am simply one that has a first instinct of putting a logical explanation to it.

My mates Nan 100% had what she called the " gift ".

Her " gift " was that she could see the aura around people, which indicated their future state of health and well being, both good or bad.

She never took a penny off anyone and people would travel miles to see her, ( some quite famous ).

She was kind of an " early warning " beacon for ill health and future life problems.

She wasn`t a charlatan in anyway, leading a completely normal life and gained nothing, except helping people with what she did.

I do believe there are certain people who have " abilities " though they are a rarity amongst the 1000s of conmen and charlatans out there

I don't know the laws in Columbia but over here I think you have to declare if your house is haunted before selling.
I would not dismiss anything regards the paranormal there's got to be something in it.

I actually don't live in Colombia but in the US and so does my ma, I don't think there are laws having to disclose paranormal activity but people feel it. A couple of months ago my mum had placed house in the market and one old lady came with her family to look at the house and told her family that she didn't like it that she could feel a weird energy so they didn't make an offer and my mom pulled it out of the market until she comes back from her trip to Belgium.

I am not dismissing it either, I just wish there was something we could do to get rid off it.

Don't believe in ghosts or the paranormal at all, I had an open mind to it when I was younger but no one has been able to prove their existence as far as I'm concerned.

I really wish there hasn't. I was even hesitant posting something as I knew some people don't believe in such things. Nor I'm not hallucinating and I don't do drugs, I only smoke marihuana and that's medicine

There's a very good reason for not believing in such things. It's because such things are just as real as God, Santa, the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy. Spoiler Alert..... If you believe in such things you're completely delusional.

You are correct. The brain can play awful tricks and that’s why is so difficult to discuss this subject as people may assume it can be paranoia. However, the brain can’t play a trick to three people at the same time and that’s exactly what my brother, my ma and the shaman encountered one time as the ghost slap their hand against the dining room table as they were burning some sage around the house.

I wish we could find a woman like your mate. We actually have used to shamans one American younger and more local person and then a lady from Guatemala that were recommended to us and my family has spent over $1,000 dealing with it and still haven't found a solution to getting rid off the ghost completely.

In my old house when I was about 17 or 18 I used to be on my own a lot as my mum and younger brothers had moved in with her then new husband, at night when I was asleep I used to wake up having real battles with something that would be trying to drag the quilt off me or trying to drag me out of the bed… or opposite sometimes where I would feel pressure pinning me to the bed….in the morning I’d put it down to bad dreams and would question myself. Never mentioned it to anybody and eventually moved out to where I no’s live, few years later at a family thing conversation somehow turned to haunted houses… I told them all I thought our old house was haunted because of ‘the bad dreams’ I used to have… turns out both my brothers had the same thing happen to them in the same room of the house I’d felt it years ago. Still don’t believe in ghosts though ?

I'd have no issue with something like this, someone helping people feel a bit better about something

Last November I went to put something away in the garden shed about 12.30 AM.
One side of the garden is bounded by a 6' fence with parkland on the other side. As I got near the bottom of the garden I just got that feeling when you 'sense' that somebody is looking at you. When I turned towards the fence I saw the head and shoulders of a young girl (about 5 or 6 yrs old) just staring at me. As you can imagine I nearly crapped myself. She then started to move along parallel to the fence, turning her head as she moved and never taking her gaze off me. She then smiled, waved and 'disappeared'
Logic tells me that it must have been a young girl sat on her dads shoulders walking past, but having got over the initial shock I went out to look. There was no sign of anybody about and no way that they would have been able to get out of sight in the 10 or 15 seconds it took me to get out.
As I said, the ONLY logical explanation that I can think of is that it was a girl on somebody's shoulders. The way she moved however is against this as she sort of 'glided' (not even a slight up and down movement that you would expect from walking) There was also no sound of footsteps.
I KNOW that I saw her quite clearly, but I can't explain it.

BTW @GrandOldTeam I stayed on the 5th floor at the Adelphi last month. I didn't see anything strange, but thank God I hadn't heard about your experiences before I went.

It is so hard to figure out who is a charlatan and who is not. I feel when people are dealing with this issue they can become victims of conmen because one is subject to an expertise that's not very common. It is really frustrating and one of the issues dealing with this situation has been puzzling for our family.

In that case the truth would probably be more scary than the ghost stuff.

You basically had someone living in your roof and behind your walls etc.

Imagine the things he saw whilst watching you from the loft hatch.

It sure is but when dealing with a situation that is not normal then people are willing to do anything to get it resolve or find a solution for it, I know my family has been trying to find the right person. We have been referred to a few, two of them tried to help but they have charged a lot for their services and the energy still is there. Another man went to the house and immediately stated he didn't want to deal with this energy and told my ma that when energies are so attached to a location that it is very difficult to get rid off them and that it would be best leaving her house
