No unfortunately things happen when you least expect it and we really have never thought about setting up a camera but that sounds like a good tip. My brother did record some of the weird sounds with his phone though.

My family has been desperate not so much for answers but finding a way how to expel that darn energy out of the house so I'm sure they could have been taken advantage. Once again, it is such a complex issue to discuss and find help without people taking advantage or thinking you are crazy or on drugs like @-Rob- thinks I'm.

Yeah it's the kind of topic that splits opinion, as I said I experienced something, but it was malevolent or threatening, so I just kind of forgot about it, buildings I personally think can absorb energy maybe sometimes that's of a traumatic kind, hasn't the local church/priest been approached?

My mates Nan 100% had what she called the " gift ".

Her " gift " was that she could see the aura around people, which indicated their future state of health and well being, both good or bad.

She never took a penny off anyone and people would travel miles to see her, ( some quite famous ).

She was kind of an " early warning " beacon for ill health and future life problems.

She wasn`t a charlatan in anyway, leading a completely normal life and gained nothing, except helping people with what she did.

Yeah it's the kind of topic that splits opinion, as I said I experienced something, but it was malevolent or threatening, so I just kind of forgot about it, buildings I personally think can absorb energy maybe sometimes that's of a traumatic kind, hasn't the local church/priest been approached?

I sure is that kind of topic, that's why I was hesitant about starting this thread. We have yet to approach a local priest as we are afraid they are going to label us as the evil, crazy ghost family. My ma was also traumatized by the catholic church so she is hesitant to reach for help that way.

I actually don't live in Colombia but in the US and so does my ma, I don't think there are laws having to disclose paranormal activity but people feel it. A couple of months ago my mum had placed house in the market and one old lady came with her family to look at the house and told her family that she didn't like it that she could feel a weird energy so they didn't make an offer and my mom pulled it out of the market until she comes back from her trip to Belgium.

I am not dismissing it either, I just wish there was something we could do to get rid off it.

If you can sell the house at the right price and if it is making your mum ill I would sell it.
When all said and done it's just bricks and mortar your mum's health is more important

I have felt a presence over in the CA area, a strange, relentless force that defies all logic!

The people they prey on are usually frightened / grieving and are desperate, so make easy targets.

There`s a spiritualist church not far from me, where people who are grieving can see a " spiritualist " who will try to put them in touch with whoever they are grieving for.

I`m not saying they are genuine, but they only charge £2.00 which pays for the tea / coffee etc and certainly brought a lot of comfort to a lady I knew years ago, who`s teenage boy was killed during a fight. They probably stopped her being hospitalised, as she was on the way to having a full blown nervous breakdown with the grief of losing her son.

Thats what a therapist would do but in a more structured way I guess.

Amazing thread, ok its well know amoung people who know me that i live in a old haunted house, there is a pressance in my house that plenty of people who have been here have felt themselves without me mentioning it first, like ive never pointed it out to people but several have pin pointted the exact same spot and thought there was someone there.
House was built just after WW1, if you imagine a staircase that goes up inside the house (which is pretty big) to a small landing, then another set of small stairs that go to the right to a landing that only has a bathroom and my bedroom on it., the pressance is on that landing. There stairs are odd as some parts are distinctly warmer then others, that alone i find odd but i put that down to the architecture and where ive got heaters and the watertank
Why i dont know, but the type of thing that happens is people will go in the bathroom then come out and wonder who was outside the door at the top of these stairs, they can sense someone standing there on the other side of the wall, I can promise you its not me doing a Peter Wyngarde and hanging around toilets!

So on this landing there are two doors, the bathroom door and my bedroom door, last year one time i was in the bedroom and for no reason such as drafts the door seemed to open, i thought nothing of it at the time but a week or so later one night i was asleep and i suddenly had the feeling of one of my cats had climbed on the bed and was prodding me, like cats often do, in the dark i tried to push him off then realized both cats were actually outside, no idea what was going on there but it was distinctive pressure. Also while ive been in the sleep mode when your in between being actually asleep but your no longer awake and ive thought ive seen things in the room in the dark, like floating, kind of weird, its something i have talked to a therapist about as ive had problems over the years with sleep, insomnia, sleep paralysis...etc I actually used to wait until it was light before going to bed because i used to get stressed about what i might see, so before id even gone to bed i was allready on high alert. I used to put this down to activity in the house.

For years at my mum’s house there has been some form of paranormal activity but nothing too serious to make anyone scared, well until recently. Just odd sounds or weird smells that come momentarily and then vanish as quickly. But last year due to the pandemic my older brother moved in with my ma and somehow managed to infuriate whatever energy has been residing at her house. For months he and my ma were harassed by this entity. Really scary and weird things happened at her house the past few months, things that I had only witnessed in scary films. For months my ma and brother dealt with this ghost, trying figure out how to expel it from the house but it was challenging dealing with this situation without people thinking they were crazy. Discussing this subject and finding solutions is so complex. Is not like one can go to the police and make a report. My brother finally found a local shaman willing to help them get rid of this awe-inducing presence of the spectral world that had made a mess out of my mum’s and brother’s human world. After several cleansing and after my brother moved out of my mum’s house, the energy has finally slowed down. Still is there but at least it is not aggressively bothering my mum like it was doing a few months ago. Unfortunately its presence is enough to push my mom to sell her house which makes me so sad because I love her home but this energy is having very bad effects on my mum’s nerves and her mental health so while I dislike the thought of her house being sold, I dislike more the thought of my ma living in fear at her own house so hopefully it will sell soon so we can close this weird chapter of our lives. The house will not be listed for sale again until my mum comes back from Europe, she is going to Belgium next month to visit my brother. While she is gone I’m going have to keep an eye on her cat so I will be having to go to her house at times on my own and tbh I’m feeling a bit nervous about encountering whatever is there.

What are your thoughts on the afterlife? Has anyone has had any weird experiences with ghosts, or dealt with paranormal activities? Tell me your ghost stories and if you have been successful getting rid of them. Do you have any tips or tricks when dealing with ghost?

Do you hear moaning and wake up covered in ectoplasm?
