Jealous, again. Wish I'd bothered. I'll watch the coverage all weekend. Very good line-up this year.

Pick of the acts I'd like to watch (would go to see if there)

Artics
Lightning Seeds
The Hives
Los Bitchos (never heard them, what a name - hope it's some Bolivian birds with little care for clothing)
The Saw Doctors
The Damned
GNR
Rick Astley
Lana Del Ray
The Manics
The Lathums
Christine & The Queens
Fatboy Slim
Leftfield
Elton
Blondie
QOTSA
The War On Drugs
Japanese Breakfast (Again never seen them but Japanese food all the time anytime)
Candi Staton
The Bootleg Beatles

If I was there loads of them would overlap etc but I've got Sky+ so I can record acts and stuff unlike the unwashed hippy scruffs in the field from Kenny.
IPlayer is the way forward.

Fella has it right.

It's going to be warm and flat so why bother getting nice ale.

Just sip your bud light. Best type of ale for that situation

Must admit I haven't heard of half the acts and it's the same every year. Still enjoy watching some of them though, usually due to recommendations in this thread. Just seen somebody called Jamie Webster being interviewed on breakfast news who is obviously from Liverpool. Who knew ?

Doesn't sound like he is

I’m at Glastonbury and having a rare moment of 5g connectivity. My phones been useless for most of it so far.

Had a bit of a rave yesterday, went to see London Elektricity and Inja.

So many bands clashing today, so need to see how many of Texas, Royal Blood, Chvrches, Fred Again.., Stone & potentially the Foo Fighters if they end up being the secret band I can get to.

Busy night ahead. :celebrate:

I hope you`ve got your Kenwright Out flag with you ;)

Saw Blondie on the coverage of the IOW festival mate. Love Debs but sadly the voice just isn't there anymore. Great songs though.
She's 77. Feels kinda wrong that a lot of old bands whose heyday was 30-40 years ago still living off of that heyday. It's like the original IW festival getting Gustav Mahler to play because he was popular 50 years ago (he'd have been dead like, but you get my point). Guns n Roses have done bugger all of note for 30 years or more. It's a pretty sad indictment of modern music that the likes of them and Elton blooming John are still getting gigs.

Let's scrap the FA Cup final next year and just get Peter Reid and Big Nev to bring their boots along. It'll be great.

I get what you mean Bruce but it's supply and demand I guess. A lot of the punters are from that era.

I'm fine with it as long as they can still deliver. Sadly Debbie Harry can't.

I like watching the newer bands I've never heard of, which is most of them.

I watched Arctic Monkeys headline a Leeds festival a while back and they were atrocious. The only saving grace was witnessing some scrote getting choke slammed off the roof of an ice cream van.

Can’t believe they’re headlining such a big festival.

I'm not sure many of them can still deliver tbh, and many seem quite absurd to even be trying. Obviously I don't know what GnR will be performing, but a 61 year old singing about the stuff they sang about on Appetite seems quite embarrassing. It's not edgy youngster so much as pervy grandpa.

One of the reasons I like Radiohead is that their music has grown up with them. If 50 something Thom Yorke was still singing about being a creep and a weirdo it'd be a bit tragic.
