Imagine spending money to live in a field for a weekend surrounded by people off their cake, listening to has beens like Blondie, Rick Astley, Will Young and Guns n’ Roses (whose lead singer can’t sing any more), Lewis Capaldi with no voice, then finish it off with Elton John (nothing against Elton, but everyone has heard all his songs a billion times).

It's absolutely magical.

Her and Dolly Parton are the purest voices I can recall. Both can quite easily make me cry. The destruction of "I will always love you" by Whitney Housten (sic) is a musical crime.

Someone said it was to stop the drums swamping the vocals. But everything goes through a mixer and out of the massive sound system anyrate. You aint gonna hear a drum at the back of that field without massive amplication/mixing.

It'll be more to do with what the musicians on the stage need to hear than front of house.

Dolly's version is light years better. Understated and all the more beautiful for the flaws in Dolly's voice. Whitney's is overwrought and show-offy and I hate it.

Most dont realise it was her song. It was Nikki's exit music at her crem, and there was an audible gasp when the song started. It is just beautiful when heard from Dolly.
