Golf 2022....

4ft 7in average lol. Unbelievable
Reminds me of the day Duval shot the 59. It seemed like every iron shot was within six feet.
What a great tournament that was and a fantastic day of golf.

The standard today was worthy of a final day of a major, really enjoyable golf.
Good omen going into Brookline. Looks like they should dodge the heat wave, which is good for the level of play.

You can’t compare what we witnessed in London to last night. The best players in the world being motivated to play at their very best to beat each other as opposed to players motivated purely by money. The first 12 holes of golf from Rory and Thomas were as good as it gets and a special mention for Rose. Changed his coach recently and it was like the rose of old. Great tournament. Should be great at Brookline next week with Rory, JT and Scheffler all at the top of their games.

The driving will be key there. A different kind of test, but always interesting to watch.

….had a little US Open e/w interest in Webb Simpson @ 80-1 and Im @ 40-1.

Much prefer in-play wager on Saturday when there’s usually value for those just off the pace,
Ims stats and profile stack up nicely. I've bet on him too.

Two Americans to look out for Burns and Riley both in good form especially Burns he's on a tear. Odds bit short on him. 66s on Riley look decent.

Only other bet so far is on the star in the making Englishman Richard Mansell. Was present at his first pro win in 2019. On the PGA Euro Tour a breeding ground for future stars. He's one of them. Drove the ball miles, will be handy at Brookline, Promoted to Challenge tour and had a few invites onto Full tour too and doing well.

He's available with Skybet at 40/1 to get a top 20 finish. Bet365 only going 10s. They know this guy like I do it seems. First time in such a huge event but there is precedent with Jordan Smith, on a similar trajectory to RM, making top 10 at the US Open a few years back.

…was following you in on Mansell but it’s 40-1 top 10 now.

Good shout @Eggs. My each way bets are Lowry and Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is in the the top 10 on the PGA tour in virtually every category. A win is just around the corner I feel.

Agree re Fitzy. He has to win soon, and if the set up at Brookline is tight, this will really suit him.

Ha ha I knew I'd have them running with that bet!

Problem is they have cried foul about technical issues and have voided the bet due to the wrong prices being shown. Though they have kindly offered me the chance to place my bet at the revised price. I have demanded a VAR playback but no dice so far.

Didn't know the CEO of Skybet read GOT but there you go. Sorry about that brother Eggs but I'm sure you have run into probs with these in the past. Ratbags

Some level-headed comments from Jon Rahm today.
Says he has made enough money to keep him happy for the rest of his life, he doesn't need an extra $400m, and he loves being part of the history and tradition of the current set up

A proper spectrum of reactions from the big players on the PGA tour.

JT going with the "I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed" approach, Rahm with the grown up measured approach.

And then your have Rory going knee high, two footed whenever a microphone is put in his face. Love it.

That PGA tour Netflix series is gonna be fire.
