I pop down the food bank a couple of times a month with a bag or two of shopping, always happy to help someone with lifting etc, I let people use my club-card if they've forgot theirs and I'm in the queue, Often pop change into a collection tin if I use cash at the till, pass the fella that sits outside my local shop a quid or two or go and get him a coffee, I give monthly to the RNLI and I'm sure I still own a dolphin. On top of my missus keeping every delivery driver in Liverpool in a job, our household is quite a giving one.

What do you do to help others?

I remember a good deed done to me.

After Nikki died, I waited for her phone to ping with a text for her phone bill. Didnt have a clue who her contract was with. Anyrate, phoned them, explained the situation and the lad told me they wouldnt want the balance paid, and would keep the line open for a few weeks in case folk tried to contact her.

Was a nice thing to do.

I am a saint amongst mortals, I freely give my time on here, offer sage advice and wisdom to those in need, share my vast subject knowledge of football with the lesser developed individuals in the Everton forum .. and I’m just an all round genuine guy.

Seriously though

A lady stopped me as I was getting into my van last week and asked directions to the nearest hospital as she’s badly burnt her arm… instead of giving directions I offered a lift to the hospital and dropped her off outside A+E. A few days later whilst out with mrs k an elderly lady was struggling with her trolley in the Tesco car park so I went and helped her control the trolley, loaded her bit of shopping into her boot and took her trolley back for her… every little helps !

….i give the postman £10 and the window cleaner £10 this morning. I do like the idea of giving to food banks, I’d be happy buying baby formula because I know how some mums struggle with that. I should do more.

Last Christmas there was a homeless guy outside M&S on Queens Dr, opposite the Jolly Millar. A bloke stopped and asked him what he needed, he went into Aldi and came back with food, blankets etc. Some good people out there.

I have always tried to do at least one good deed a day, and will always help friends etc where I can.
Costs me nothing except maybe a little time.

If we all did a little something to help someone else every day, wouldn't take long for the world to be a much better place for us all.
