Good Luck Tony Bellew!

Bellew always turns into a massive soppy prick after every fight and goes totally over the top brown nosing his opponents to death. Hopefully I won't have to see that again but we all know we can never take a boxers word for it when they say they're retiring.

Usyk adapted in rounded 4, and it started to come apart then, bellew was fighting someone a lot better than him and that takes tremendous concentration which is pretty tiring to maintain

Yep, took his time and sussed out Bellew's plan A, and then like all quality boxers he worked out what he needed to do.

Agree on the concentration levels taking it out of you as well mate, you could see in Bellew's eyes his head was all over the gaff.

I like Bellew, he's a Scouser, a fellow blue and is all heart, but after the fight you just want him to go back to his dressing room instead of all the dramatics with the mic in his hand. Also, I was saying to my lad that it wouldn't surprise me too see him come back, he's got a massive ego, and wouldn't have liked his career ending up with him prostrate on the canvas, even though he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.

Malignaggi basically said the same whilst a few other pundits and a lot of the crowd seemed to be still crediting Bellew with rounds.

I'm no boxing expert, but I couldn't believe the Mexican judge had Bellew up by 3 before the KO! the English judge had him up by 2, and the Ukraine judge had it all square. As I say, I'm no expert, but I had Bellew up by one before the KO.

I’ll be honest I got caught up in that and thought he was doing so well but usyk is just a quality fighter. It seemed clear usyk was wary of bellew’s power and as a slow starter anyway it just looked like tony could make those rounds count and then it’s over.

It’s funny with bellew I remember watching him before he was with matchroom and before he’d gone with dave Caldwell and I liked him but never saw him rising to the levels he did really . Looking back now he’s had nearly 2m PPV sales , a couple of shots at world titles and lost , starred in a movie , won a world title at goodison, took on one of the best in Usyk in the richest cruiserweight fight in history and comprehensively beaten David Haye twice. It’s been quite the ride to be honest and he deserves a huge amount of credit .

The whole time all of this has happened Bellew has come out to z cars , worn the clubs badge and talked us up the at every opportunity. I don’t think as Evertonians we could have asked for more . I’ve absolutely loved it personally and I could never thank him enough for that night at Goodison alone .

I say well done Tony. You've become wealthy beyond your wildest dreams. Go enjoy your money mate. You proved a lot of people wrong on your journey and rode the matchroom hype train with pristine aplomb. I believe it wasn't all about money for this last fight. I think he believed he could do it. He's a clever man and superb story teller. He really pulled you in with his emotional and considered media interviews over the years. A top bloke I thought and still do. Due to his communication skills and boxing intelligence he'll do well as a media pundit for sky. I don't agree with what people in sky land are saying about this fight though. I saw a man who tried to back off all the time and hope to use a clever counter punch technique. This was obviously his game plan but he did not have the stamina or explosive response needed to carry this off. He was being relentlessly hunted in this fight. Usyk imposed his superiority later on as Tony tired. The round before he went down you could see Tony wasn't happy. He knew at the end of the fight he'd been kind of schooled by an elite fighter. Sure he may have won a few rounds but so what. In the end the knockout was brutal and may haunt him. I felt sorry for him there sprawled out like that with his cash cow promoter jumping up to desperately protect his head. Both behaved like gentleman at the end though even though Tony didn't know where he was!
