Goodbye to Goodison

I've send Ped from toffee tv is campaigning to make sure it's not the Monday night, the last game of the season.

I strongly believe it should be a night game, with events before it. And the last game of the season gives her the send off she deserves.

If it's difficult for you to travel for home games, fair enough but that's your problem, book it off if it's that important, don't ruin what could be an amazing event.

Why couldn't you have events on the Sunday though? Surely Sunday 16:30 would be the best KO time. Most of the day beforehand to have stuff going on and still time afterwards for fans to hang around with public transport still running etc.

It's on the penultimate weekend too so either way it won't be the last game of the season.

Proper kick in the teeth to the fans if it ends up the Monday, no all day party atmosphere before the game, and the majority of people straight home after it.

Atmosphere would probably end up terrible😂 one last way for the powers that be to do us over, ruining the send off to Goodison

I must admit I kind of see it that way too. I don't really see how you reconcile the idea that it's this incredible momentous occasion that everybody wants to be there for and is so sacred that it needs to be cherished by the entire fanbase with the idea that you couldn't possibly take the afternoon off work and/or go in the next day a bit jaded after a late one.

A new exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool, starting on 5/4. Bring your own tissues.

Lots of people can’t just book a Monday off though. Thinking of teachers, kids in school etc

The night game could be on the Sunday if they want it at night

Because its not just adults who are saying goodbye it's kids too plus adults and kids who won't even be able to get into the ground but will want to be around it on the day. A night game makes all of that tougher and less appetising.

So kids and teachers finish at what 3 30? 4 and a half hours before kick off? It’s not exactly impossible for them to savour it is it?

I don’t care when it is, I’d probably rather it wasn’t Monday personally but I just can’t get on board with all the ‘oh it would be terrible’ shouts. There’s no answer that suits everyone (some people work weekends aswell you may be shocked to hear, and trains are worse on Sundays for most people too). I just think the pearl clutching about it from some is massively over the top, if the occasion is important to these people as you’re making out then they’ll sort it out. If they’d just quite like to have an afternoon piss up and get together with their mates and a Monday night would ruin it then unlucky but who cares.
