Goodison atmosphere

What's more embarssing is the fact some people thing pro footballers on x amount per weeks need some songs to perform. Ridiculous mate they should be out there performing whether the atmosphere is crap or not... end of the day put a shift in they'll never get bood. Spend the game passing backwards getting outplayed by inferior teams and showing no passion they have every right to expect abuse. Need to stop being so precious

Something changed at Goodison in the last year's of Moyes. Prior to that everyone fooled themselves into thinking it would all get better soon and we'd be back at the top were we belong. But in the last few years it's finally dawned on people that this isn't a dip in form anymore its were we are as a club right now and it's made people angry/sad/whatever and it's hurt the atmosphere. Goodison is broken and everyone who goes the home game knows it. We can talk about not playing good football but the problem is deeper then that, it's what happens when you have a long suffering fan base finally lose hope.

They are mate. I go most aways and us travelling well doesn't mean we have good fans in terms of atmosphere
Agree on this

We have one of the best away followings in the league....and we're still crap.

But do we? A lot of clubs our size can fill an allocation, we take great numbers but away from home we no longer offer the level of backing to the players we once did, great atmosphere at the bar but during the 90 minutes of play not so much

Non-existent. Full of people whinging. I know were poor at the minute but I'm sure people get some joy out of tearing in to our own players.

This is not making an excuse for Koeman or the players because its been nowhere near good enough. This is a totally separate issue and has been for a good few years now. Too many fans waiting to turn against their own team at the first sign of them struggling. Baffles me to be honest, and the atmosphere is quite embarrassing compared to a lot of other teams. Genuinely, is there a more negative crowd in the league? Its like our fans think we have a god given right to beat lesser opposition.

Its frustrating because on the increasingly rare occasions where Goodison is up for it the team invariably turn up, goodison turns into a bear pit and we get good results.

Have you watched any Arsenal games from the past two years?

How can the fans create an atmosphere when the players play without intensity, there are no shots on goal and it is clear that the team
knows that the line-up is simply wrong? The game tomorrow is a biggie and if we lose there is a break and then Brighton away and Arsenal.
EFC could be in trouble.

The usual Koeman line-up wont beat Burnley. We need blokes in the box. Play DCL and Niasse and drop some sacred cows. Maybe include Vlasic.

But has been like this for quite a while now.

The way I see it is this, unles playing the RS or UTD, the atmos is pretty average (and absolutely woeful in a cup game against a lower league side) until either we go a goal down or the ref makes a/some bad calls against us. We only react to negatives. Take Saints or palace fans, annoying but they sing the same positive chants from the start and throughout the game whoever they play and whatever the score. We basically LOVE to moan, so much so that we only sing when we are up against it.

Blaming Koeman is mad, it was the same under Davy and RM.

We don't want to hear it though because "we are the best fans in the world"
