What a great thread, really high quality stuff. No wonder we win awards here.

Enjoy yourself. There are a few spots in Hanover Street if you feel too far away from home. I seem to remember practically living in O'Neills during the 2002 World Cup until Mendieta broke my heart.

You can't go wrong for pubs near the ground before the match, but you are best getting in early and watching the warm-ups if you want to make a day of it at Goodison. It can get a bit frantic if you leave it until 10 mins before KO and have consumed several pints.

We'll probably get bummed by Utd so I assume you took that into account when deciding to go to this game. Don't let it ruin your weekend.

I did. But I felt that we would at least be up for it. The last game I saw was against Fulham a few years back. We won 1-0 but it was a dead rubber. Anyway, if we lose, I'd find it a tiny consolation that it secures the top 4 that little bit more against the other lot. Petty, but NEA.

We always end up in Irish bars, so it sounds like we'll be paying O'Neill's a visit. Peculiar habit of us, but one I rarely try to break.

It's always a good game at home against Utd whatever happens so it is a good choice for you to go to. My last one at Goodison against them was around 2009 when Neville did 'the tackle' on Ronaldo which changed our season. We are ALWAYS up for this one whatever happens. I also went to the semi-final at Wembley against them. It was my most enjoyable trip home ever as all the neutrals were pleased that we had won. I even got through airport security easily with my Everton shirt on. Beating them is 2nd only to to beating the RS.
