GOODISON MEMORIES

Palace have always had nice kits.
Especially the away kits, there was a white one with 2 vertical stripes in the middle of the chest.
Looked a bit like the Lancia Delta markings.

That’s the first time I’ve heard it described like that.:)

Only Alf Ramsay would know the answer to that! He had his favourites and tended to stick with them regardless of club form. There were also fewer substitutes so it was much harder to win a cap. Kendall certainly should have got in between 71 and 74 when Ramsay inexplicably picked Arsenal's Peter Storey, who wasn't even half the footballer Kendall was.

He's got to be one of the best players never to play for England. Harvey only got one cap as well!
Reading many old EFC books as I do - Harry Catterick was the main problem for the halt on selection of our up & coming stars after arguments over injuries not being factual on returning EFC players coming off international duties with far worse injuries.......hence later call ups never occurred for our potential players as the Catt definitely hara Gallo out with Sir Alf over this issue .....

Lovely that kit, if it wasn't for the red, but seeing as it's Palace I will let you off.
See what I mean about the Lancia? ?
Yes. Had never thought of it before but definitely Lancia. I think only when their racing teams were sponsored by Martini or Cinzano or some such muck.
It’s claret though, definitely not red.
