FFP is dead, as proven by the fact we will be able to spend an utter fortune this window.

The club will pay for the ground, out of savings made across the board since Mosh took over, wages saved, interest payments saved.

So indirectly The Mosh will pay, but directly the money will come from the club.

FFP is clearly not dead.

Otherwise @The Esk would not be highly focused on the premier league wage rules and compliance issues related to FFP.

Laughable Goat.

I'm well on the subject matter as I've been banging the drum about it for 5 years on this forum.

It's all about/going towards creating a brand, the way City have. Yes, we are moving soon, but would you as a business tie yourself with Goodison? Probably not, its great for us as Everton fans but realistically it looks outdated. Make it look nicer, start creating the brand before we move.

It contributes to brining in more corporate.

I can tell you that I know of many companies (one is a multi billion pound company) that have been turned off using both Goodison and Anfield for non-football events due to the 'tatty' look of the stadia.

Moshiri is well on it. Simple as that.

Its all about the big picture. Improve the look of the stadium. Modernisation. Improved looks and improved commercial revenues.

Not robbing Peter to pay Paul - Kenwright-nomics

Exactly. With the ever increasing media coverage, Goodison probably doesn't particularly stick in the mind of the foreign fans and their cash.

Creating something which is striking and improves the image of the club, will start to improve our profile and that's where the extra revenue starts.

Better performances on the pitch and a better environment could easily increase the number of games broadcasted from Goodison.

Not just them. Companies. Local and international.

They will be more likely to use the facilities if the stadium has the facilities and looks the part.

Image is everything.

Anyone allowing their dogs to dog dirt around Goodison should also be given an on the spot fine as well.

I'm 100% in favour of that too.

Indeed. With an improved image, extra advertising (both domestically and internationally) could also be beneficial. Speculate to accumulate....

Exactly.

Its precisely what @The Esk was demanding in terms of capitalisation of the company last season.

Its also addressing some of the issues at least peripherally commented on by @GrandOldTeam when 'the annex' was on the table.

At least SOMETHING is being done to improve the image of the stadium and its surrounding area.

Not NEGLECT.

The thing with City is they have a state behind them with a prince of the ruling royal family who are worth 2 trillion dollars who one day decides to buy City from his own personal £20 billion pound fortune who in turn get from his multitude of state owned companies like Etihad Aabar Arabtec Etisalat and AbuDhabiTourism to fund city with a £177 million a year in commercial revenues per year,so you can see how easy City's brand has risen quite sharply with that financial clout behind them.

Compare that to Mr Moshiri who in personal wealth amongst the premier league owners is ranked below Southampton (Liebher) Sunderland (Ellis) RS (Henry & FSG) Arsenal (Kroenke & Usmanov) Leicester (Srivaddhanaprabha) Stoke (Coates Family) United (Glazer Family) Chelsea (Abramovich) City (Mansour & UAE) Spurs (Joe Lewis) West Ham (Gold & Sullivan) and Newcastle (Ashley) when they come back up.

On top of that our turnover is ranked around 9th or 10th in the PL.

Moshiri etc have a huge task building a brand for the club when competing against teams with massive turnovers on top of world wide support.

I doubt very much it's coming direct from him, why would he subsidise an expense the club can afford?

Pure speculation on my part but the freshening up of Goodison may be a precursor to a short term naming rights deal.

"The Home Bargains Arena" - ready for the SC stadium build? Bloody hope not! lol

Any infrastructure spending is totally exempt on regulatory restrictions in terms of ownership write offs. So it would make sense that Moshiri pays for it rather than the club.

Because infrastructure spending is not included in the calculations relating to profitability and sustainability rules there is no reason at all to fund infrastructure spending from outside the club.

Without being an expert on corporation tax in the UK, the club is not going to be disadvantaged by meeting the costs themselves, in fact the opposite.

Can't think of a single reason why Moshiri would pay for improvements directly and indeed by doing so might he not create a tax liability for the club dpeening on how the payment is treated ?

I wasn't suggesting it on City's scale mate. I was purely just using them as an example. Everything you see with them is 'City' now... City this, forget teh Manchester, Melbourne, New York part of it.

How can you have been banging on about it for 5 years when you've only been a member since Feb 2014?

Moderation team, please act swiftly and mercilessly.

Its not dogs mate - its Kopites.

Even the daftest of dog breeds is significantly more intelligent than that lot and would know not to crap on the sacred ground!
