To be honest mate, you are destined to fail if you are looking to work out four hours a day and starve yourself. make some sensible lifestyle changes and continue to educate yourself as you go

Who said I was starving myself or doing 4 hours of exercise per day? haha.

That’s just one day per week when I have football. I did it last night fine.

Probably not giving yourself enough time for the muscles to regenerate, try doing your max for one arm session and then the next time you do arms do less weight and more reps to help with endurance
Ah ok. Yeah I was going the gym pretty much every other day and was starting to feel as though I was tiring myself out. Maybe giving myself 2 days rest in between will help too.

I'm going spinning in the morning. Wednesday was my first session back after 11 weeks of not going. I've put on 2 and a half stone and it was horrendous. I'm hoping this time will be a little easier but in 11 weeks I undid all the hard work of the previous 6 months when I dropped from 13 and a half stone to 10 and a half. I want to get back down so I know I have to put hard work in. However I know it can be done. Only problem is the distraction of Xmas coming up.

Am thinking to buy an exercise bike soon. I'm never going to use a gym or go out cycling around the city but I reckon I'd use this everyday if I had the convenience when I get home from work everyday. I play footy 3 times a week but have been injured a good bit this year so need something else to keep myself from.

My question is, can you go badly wrong buying whatever bike? Decathlon is the big chain here in Spain. Dunno if they are in UK, but I would probably buy something between 150-250 euros from there. Are there details I need to take in to account and possible issues with some bikes. I really haven't a clue

Been having a go of this intermittent fasting lately, only 2 weeks in on the 8 hrs feed 16 fast, thought it might just be a fad but its working, im training also wich obviously helps the process.

Anyone had a go?

As ever , you get what you pay for, I had a low cost one given to me years ago, it was hopeless and I couldn’t sit on it for long , it had a really hard seat. I’m not a cyclist but I occasionally use a Turbo Trainer , which is quite cheap to buy, and put my mountain bike on it, which I rarely use outside. A Turbo Trainer May be a good option if you’ve already got a bike you’re comfortable with.

Trying eating exactly the same food spread over 12 hours, you’ll still lose weight. Fat loss/weight loss is a very simple calculation that has been made complicated by companies so they make money

How are you training and fasting at the same time ??

Not eating after exercise isn`t good for you at all and can lead to things like hypoglycemia ( low blood sugar ).

Ideally you should eat within 30 mins of finishing.

Was it bad just because of the seat? I dont have a bike as i use the city bike here.

Yes, you should take in carbohydrates before exercise. 6 bags of chips used to do the trick for me. My playing weight was 13 stone 8 lbs. I played 'till I was 40 and 42 years later I weigh 14 stone 3 lbs. Cut the chips down to 2 bags when I go to play snooker now, mainly because the snooker room is up two flights of stairs.lol

Protein for afters.

Although I’ve been reading that whey protein does more harm than good ?

That’s a bit of bro-science, unless you’re a competitive athlete there’s very little damage that working out on an empty stomach will do. There’s a catabolic effect but the average Joe it’s irrelevant

The important part is the refeed, replenishing glycogen stores etc. Muscle sythensis has a huge window, there’s not a need to get an immediate Protein hit after a workout either. The reference was in relation to the “anabolic window” that became synonymous within the world.

I laugh when I see lads rushing to the lockers to down a protein shake.

Alf Tupper (the tough of the track) hero of The Rover comic, always had fish & chips before he won his races.
