This joke of a PPV was a total disaster before it even started. When you have a ppv with only four advertised matchs you know its gonna be a stinker. Its just disrespectful to those who paid to see that trash.
What did they even get on this joke of a show?
Becky won a decent if predictable matchs that does absolutely nothing for her or Banks and left them with nowhere to go becuse how do you top a HIAC match?
Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan beat Luke Harper and Erick Rowen in another predictable if match that belonged on a random smackdown show.
Randy Orton beats Ali. Who cares? Throwaway match that wasn't even advertised. If WWE can't be arsed enough to pretend that it's important to advertise it why should anyone care about it at all. It does nothing for anyone and at best belonged on a Smackdown tv. It screamed house show match.
Asuka and Kairi Sane win the woman's tag titles from Bliss amd Cross and you've got to ask yourselves what is the point of these titles? They treat them like the old divas championship with zero creabilty and pass them around as if they meant nothing.
Strowman and the Viking Raiders beat The OC by DQ in another match that screamed "I belong on a house show!". Again WWE don't care enough to advertise this so why should fans care?
Chad Gable beats Baron Corbin for no apparent reason. Its not like they're going to push Gable is it so i don't see the point in letting him go over Corbin here who is getting pushed and is one of the few decent top heels WWE have. Again though WWE doesn't care enough to advertise it so.....
Charlotte beats Bayley to win the Smackdown Womans championship. Why? Charlotte once again proves to be the female Roman Reigns. She didn't need the win and Bayley did. Joke of a decision. Charlotte bores me to tears as a performer, without the last name Flair she'd never be used like this. Overrated AF.
Right before the main event Corbin attacks Gable during his post match interview backstage again showing that at best the whole thing was an lazy angle spot that belonged a random tv show or at worst they had nothing so wanted to give the live crowd a shock win but then give Corbin his momentum back right away. Either way, its a joke.
Then it was main event time and I can't put into words how big of a joke the finsh of this abomination was. How TF do they justify a DQ finish during a HIAC match?! That was worse then WCW Vince Russo level bad. Literally the only crumb of consolation I can take from this cluster is the fact they didn't ruin Waytt just yet.
All in all, an absolute disgrace of a PPV that WWE made zero effort to promote or put together. They deserved the fans booing and chanting AEW as the show went off the air.
Garbage like this being put out by WWE is the greatest gift AEW could of asked for. WWE will 100% of gifted AEW some new viewer's based on this disaster.
