GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Enjoyed Survivor Series.... Pretty predictable NXT would come out on top, that's the brand that's competing with AEW so they were always gonna put that brand over... Good weekend for Keith Lee, Adam Cole, Rhea Ripley, Shayna Baszler...

Much needed Heel turn for Rollins on Raw...

WWF coming to BT Sport? In what capacity? Probably start watching it again if it did.

For some comparison, Smackdown this week had 2.34 mill, while RAW had 2.15 mill..

Think WWE will be pretty happy with that... NXT seems to be consistent (and has the capability to add new stars that can maintain their ratings long term.

AEW started strong, but hasn't been able to keep 600k viewers watching out of curiosity. They have limited options down the road for new stars they can sign. Jericho is 49 years old, so he can't keep up a full schedule long term (assume he'll also have to take time off with Fozzy tours). I don't think Moxley is as big a deal as they hope he will be.

Started watching WWF Raw from the start of 1996 and almost finished the year, really interesting to look back on. Austin, Rock and Mankind all making their WWF debuts. The Godwinns were still a thing and you could see why they were getting pumped by WCW. A few points:
  • The Undertaker is unreal, that slow entrance, raising the lights, stalking his opponents around the ring. I always liked him, but he's a new level of over with me now
  • Psycho Sid was far more over than I remember. Had that Warrior randomness on the mic, but just had that physical charisma and intensity, the crowd were fully behind him when he beat Michaels for the title
  • Michaels was a great wrestler, but I can't stand him. He only ever buried wrestlers, watching Hart and the Undertaker put over the likes of Mankind and Austin early doors for the betterment of the business couldn't be any more of a contrast
  • British Bulldog was a fantastic wrestler, really accomplished and clean in the ring
  • The Dominator is one of my favourite finishers ever, Farooq just smashing people face first into the mat
Looking forward to 1997, they're just shaping up for the Hart/Austin double turn and it's being set up so well
