GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Started watching WWF Raw from the start of 1996 and almost finished the year, really interesting to look back on. Austin, Rock and Mankind all making their WWF debuts. The Godwinns were still a thing and you could see why they were getting pumped by WCW. A few points:
  • The Undertaker is unreal, that slow entrance, raising the lights, stalking his opponents around the ring. I always liked him, but he's a new level of over with me now
  • Psycho Sid was far more over than I remember. Had that Warrior randomness on the mic, but just had that physical charisma and intensity, the crowd were fully behind him when he beat Michaels for the title
  • Michaels was a great wrestler, but I can't stand him. He only ever buried wrestlers, watching Hart and the Undertaker put over the likes of Mankind and Austin early doors for the betterment of the business couldn't be any more of a contrast
  • British Bulldog was a fantastic wrestler, really accomplished and clean in the ring
  • The Dominator is one of my favourite finishers ever, Farooq just smashing people face first into the mat
Looking forward to 1997, they're just shaping up for the Hart/Austin double turn and it's being set up so well
Why endeavour on this odyssey Prev?

I get dipping into videos on the Network but this is Mamma Mia stuff.

Honestly, I'm just interested in the history of it, and I was very young when I watched it all originally, though I remember the attitude era very well. The years of Rock and Stone Cold were honestly some of the fondest and most exciting in my life at the time, as sad as that sounds
Isn’t sad in the slightest. I didn’t appreciate it at the time myself due to being too young and it’s only now I can appreciate it through adult eyes.

I was adult then too like but found uni, girls and booze.

The whole Rusev, Lana, Lashley and Liv Morgan thing has gone beyond Katie Vick levels of cringe now. This angle feels like WWE desperately trying to be attitude era lite but have taken all the worst elements from that time and cobbled together this fluster cuck of an angle. Its embarrassing that they've allowed this trash air time.

I wonder if part of the BT deal includes WWE putting the pay per views on Box Office and thus taking them off The Network?

I'm not really watching them outside of Royal Rumble and Mania anyway, but I can see that angering a lot of people
Surely they wouldn't do that - too many WWE subscribers that works lose out, who don't have bt. Plus it means there would be practically no reason for having it anymore for all the ones who do.

Made the mistake of catching the 'main event' of Raw from this week – the wedding. Glad I've checked out of it tbh.

AEW is still pretty good and a two-day Wrestle Kingdom is this weekend. Genuinely good stuff.
