The fiend being squashed by an Old man was pretty much a fitting end to months of horrible booking....
They had to get The Fiend away from the Title, but jeez not this way... Christ even the jackhammer was botched...
They could have taken the title off The Fiend in the Elimination Chamber... Had all the others team up against him...then have Reigns eliminate nearly everyone else, but get speared and pinned by Goldberg at the end...keeps The Fiend strong, sets up Goldberg vs Reigns, simple stuff...

AEW was great this week. Can't stand Omega, but he is some wrestler. That Iron Man match with Pac was fantastic

I sort of get it...this is all about selling Wrestlemania to a bigger audience... Bring the casual fans back...
Goldberg vs Reigns and Cena vs The Fiend will get better ratings then a Wrestlemania headlined by The Fiend vs Reigns..
Remember there are several title matches with largely new talent (and unknown to the casual audience)
Lesnar vs McIntyre
Becky Vs Baszler
Charlotte vs Ripley
Those 3 matches won't sell Mania tickets, or bring back fans... But they might entertain those who have only switched on for Goldberg, Cena and likely Taker...
And then happens after Wrestlemania?
Back to square one and trying to build new stars who they will only bury anyway once a nostalgia act creaks in for a quick payday.
Reckon in terms of draw Cena v Goldberg and Reigns vs The Fiend would have been similar to what it looks like is going to happen.
I think the major reason they've done it is that it probably stops Reigns' from being booed as much when he wins. This is the completion of his return from cancer and WWE/Vince will want to finish on a feel good moment with Reigns as champion with Goldberg shaking his hand. If Reigns beat the unbeatable Fiend there would be a huge chance of the crowd hating it and "ruining" the moment.

They've been doing this for the last 8 years now... Wrestlemania has been built around Taker, Rock, Lesnar, Cena, HHH, Shane McMahon, Goldberg, Batista and Ronda Rousey.... All part time or Old returning talent..
I agree with what your saying, but until the new talent can get properly over, and the wrestling industry pick up again in popularity, this approach from Vince will continue... Was the same story when he would bring back Hogan, Piper, NWO, Flair, Bret Hart when they were all past their prime...
They tried with Reigns, fans rejected him... They tried with Rollins, fans rejected him...
They tried with Rousey, fans rejected her...
The current talent who are getting buried, are also getting paid really really well all year round to do a job they all say they love... Largely due to eyes Old talent bring to the product....
After Wrestlemania, McIntyre will get the ball to run with on Raw, and they'll see how it goes, if ratings pick up or not... And in Smackdown they'll run with Reigns again... Wyatt doesn't need to be in the title hunt that often, the same as Taker didn't need to be years ago...

If they'd wanted to get the title off the Fiend all they had to do was put him in a three or four way match and have one of the other guys get pinned. How TF can WWE be so incompetent to not see that?!

Thankfully, NWA is still brilliant to watch and is easily the best thing in wrestling right now.
