GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Wait what?

Yep, forget about WWE finally (after 7 months) following up on the Charlotte turning on her dad storyline...... The follow up at the time, was taking the hottest heel in the business and serving her up to Steph (for no understandable reason).....

Hopefully this time, Vince & HHH allow an active wrestler be the top bltch in the company.... but i won't hold my breath

Think Alexa probably wins the crown currently.

If Charlotte would lay Steph out with The Natural Selection, she'd be the most over wrestler in the company, male or female

If you've got the time and want to read into how backwards the WWE is, VICE did a fantastic bit: https://sports.vice.com/en_us/artic...-inside-look-at-wwes-unlikely-business-empire

Key bits:

  • Execs say Vince can't fix WWE's problems because HE is the biggest problem of all

  • Shane attempted a hostile takeover in 2012 via Kevin Dunn who wants him back to boost his position and influence over Stephanie and Hunter

  • When Stephanie heard Shane was coming in for a meeting she 'turned white' and Hunter 'freaked out'

  • Vince rejected Shane's offer of a takeover

  • WWE's alarmingly high turnover of senior executives is linked to Vince and his management style. He'll love you one day and then want rid of you the next
  • No long term. It's always about that one show at that exact moment

  • NXT is Hunters way of having some autonomy within creative because Vince essentially leaves him to it

  • Brian Gewirtz, former head writer, says he doesn't know if Hunter can create the stars WWE needs because he's an 'old school wrestling guy' and WWE needs characters

  • WWE has put all its eggs in the networks basket

  • Television is still the backbone of everything they do, it feeds all other branches of the business and right now it is suffering.

For me one of the biggest disappointments of the last year was WWE not using the Shane/HHH/Steph/Vince behind the scenes story, and making a proper Power struggle storyline on TV..... Shane's first appearance had so much promise, than the swerve to the daft Undertaker match ruined it......was a great opportunity to do a new version of the NWO angle with Shane invading with his own faction of wrestlers, and fighting for control against HHH & Steph..... Everyone pretty much thinks they hated each other, so play off that assumption..
