A great H G Well's short story on R4 Extra today :
The Door In The Wall, narrated by Anton Lesser.

A child goes through a door and finds a magical peaceful land. Throughout his life,as he becomes successful, he attempts once again to find the door. It's a splendid story well worth a listen.

Football on the radio. Always more stressful to listen to. However, Bayern Munich game and a 2-0 win over R/S in 80's was memorable.
One of my memorable Everton moments was listening to the second half of the Bayern home game in a pub just off the North circular rd. had made error of life time by not going. Went footy training any way so would not be dropped. No train no play!,heard them score as getting changed...total dismay. Then in pub wearing Walkman headphones while everyone else just chatting normally watching me go through hell then ecstasy jumping up an down with every action!!! Great days following the Blues apart from April /May 1986.

Semprini boring music
Sing something Simple, even more boring music...again it was the 50' and early 60's
Then came the high point of the evening Pick of the pops the top 20 in 60 mins ( was he smashie or nicey... nicey I think )

Starting to sound like the oldies thread here

There was Radio Luxembourg on the Medium wave that kept on fading in and out with the heavyside layer

Then came Pirate Radio and the rest was, as is said history

edit; Mods, GOT. ffs the contraction of Richard is D**k, can't your program sort for context...obviously not, but really.
Anyone who is interested in the Sunday shows above should look for a station called Rok radio on the Tune in app. Most of these shows and many others are played 24/7,Just sayin.

Very good documentary and interview with Allen Stanford, his first interview in 7 years, on BBC R5 currently. Will be up on the iPlayer no doubt.
