Considering the amount of things that went wrong prior to and during the making of Apocalypse Now, it`s incredible that it was even finished, let alone one of the best films of all time.

It`s a film you can just watch time and time again.

* " Charlie don`t surf " is another classic scene with Duval too.

Duval's character is the true villain of the movie no two ways about it. My God it's brilliantly made, what a film.

There was that much went on, they even made a documentary about it - Heart of Darkness : A Film Makers Apocalypse.

Which is a fantastic watch in it`s own right.

It’s the book by Joseph Conrad that the film was adapted from, the book is amazing just like the film. So many excellent acting cameos. Well in Mr Turner (my old English teacher) you got 13 year olds into reading books!

He’s definitely one of them for me but there are so many characters embroiled in war in one way or another who have just simply lost all grip on reality to different degrees in it it’s hard to choose one above another, it’s a mesmerising film.

Don't know if it's been posted already but this is probably my fave scene of all time.

Years ago I chatted with the scout who found that diner and she looked for months. I had good story behind that but im way too baked to remember it properly.

Suffice to say, they nailed that location and the acting was ok too.
