Whatever system we play we are short of natural wide players. At the moment, even if everyone is fit, it would be Mirallas and who else?

It was mostly Eto'o who had the job to track back and help Garbutt.

But yea we need at least one more wide player - Roberto is sort of a bit screwed by his options but I suppose he expected Oviedo, Pienaar and Atsu to have been more involved this season.

Robles needs a confidence boost imo. Think it's beyond harsh to write him off when he hasn't had a serious run in the team in a position notorious for needing time. Add to that he's come into the team bereft of confidence and making silly defensive mistakes.
I'm not saying I think he's a great goalie because I just don't know.
I do remember a great goalkeeper being loaned out due to a less than convincing spell between the sticks.

Ok more recently DeGea who is also Spanish having the same problems early on. The thing about Howard is we know that's as good as he will be and will probably get worse. There's a chance that Joel might improve and if he does could save us 10m in the summer.

Not looking forward to the Hull game TBH on our current form and to facing Steve Bruce, but has to be done.

Agreed the kid can't defend. Very scared of getting run at so he gives people an extra yard and they whip easy balls straight into the front post area.

Even the season they went down I think they had almost every defensive player injured and had they held onto their Swansea win would have stayed up - they would have definitely stayed up if not for the cup IMO

He got them relegated. That can't in any way be a positive thing, surely? It will take a lot to get Wigan back to where they were.
 

Oh my Robles done well. Well I must have imagined him doing the birdy song dance and flapping at the ball instead of bloody catching it on the build up of the second goal.

Also, if that was Howard people would be fuming saying " How come he never dived " seriously, Howard got criticized for not saving some of the Southampton goals so lets be consistent.

Stop mentioning Joel in the same sentence as DeGea please, its like comparing Brett Angell to Zlatan.
 
If we can't stop conceding goals then rm has to take the last seasons red [Poor language removed] approach and just out score the other team
