Who cares if we spend £100m but recoup £120m as long as the squads improved? Who cares how high our wage bill is if the squads improved & we're able to challenge?

Poll attached, but, to be honest, that's a bit too simplistic.

Personally, I'd weight them as follows :-

Wages : 40%
Net Spend : 30%
Gross Spend : 30%

Good question Woolly, shame this forum is full of piss takers.

Since the prem has started and the money has increased the most important aspect of the Net/Gross/Wages is Wages as the teams that have the highest wages generally win all the trophies also how much you spend on the wages table is attually where you mostly finish, give or take 1-2 spots. Which is why Everton under Moyes were "punching above their weight" as we had a lower wages the Spurs and RS when we finished above them.

Net spend is something people get obsessed with and doesn't really matter, we have a lot of bad players to shift on that will get us money back but as long as the players we get in are better and improve the overall team/squad.

Saying that where we are at as a club right now we need both bigger wages and a big net spend to close the gap on the top 6 an as better players require more wages they also require bigger fee's.

The likes or Chelsea net spends not important as they make millions off their academy
