I've got a book that was published between the Wars ; it compares the battlefields of WW1 to what they looked liked when photographed at the time of publication(late twenties I think). Very Interesting to see the transformation.Liverpool is twinned with Cologne in Germany, another city that was devastated during WWII.
Gennevilliers? Or something close to that spelling.I've got a book that was published between the Wars ; it compares the battlefields of WW1 to what they looked liked when photographed at the time of publication(late twenties I think). Very Interesting to see the transformation.
Anyway, in the book it mention Birkenhead being twinned with a French town which was in the battle zone during the War. Off hand I can't remember the name, at the time I tried to find out more details but nobody from the local archives could find any information.
I'll see if I can find it if anybody is in the slightest bit interested.

I discounted Lorient given its location on the Brittany coast.Either Gennevilliers or Lorient.
Can't remember the late 90s, Dave Billows or 'Kennedy'.In the mid to late 90s former Everton fitness coach Dave Billows was bit of a "face" on the local music scene, fronting a band called Kennedy.
