Groucho's Fact Hunt

Do Cheetahs and Leopards live in similar areas? Are they from the same family, or are they completely different but just look a bit similar?
They’re both felines but they have numerous differences mate. If you inspect closer they don’t really look that similar. The Leopard is the same animal as a black panther underneath I think.

And then you have the Jaguar with I think looks more like a Leopard than a Cheetah does.

Err, this thread is for imparting facts, not asking questions.

Go google it :coffee:
Ah I see

I thought we asked questions and @Groucho answered them like he was Patrick Moore on Gamesmaster
Yeah I mean Kev is right but either is fine.

Jaguars generally have a lighter base coat "spot" in the middle of the darker spots. (and are only found in South America.... I think)

Not entirely sure about that. Respected ornithologists did believe they hibernated in ponds or underwater though, as in a pre globalised society, no one actually knew what was going on.
In early 19th century Germany there’s the odd recording of a migrating crane arriving, with a spear or arrow in them that started to lead people to the truth.
