So what? They only walk out of class and mummy comes and takes them to the car and drives them home. If they're old enough, they'll be catching a bus home, or walking home. Are kids unable to walk in the dark these days?
I do remember that it was some days if it was cloudy and or raining.
If it's really a problem I'm sure the nanny state PC lot would be bleating long and hard.
one possible solution would be GMT+1 hr for BST and GMT-1hr for the winter...like that's going to happen. you just have to make the most of your 9-ish hrs of day light.

I thought that was just a WA thing.
tbh it would work, just for the tiny SE portion where most of the people live. But in the rest of it, north of the sunshine coast and out west due to those cows not being able to tell the time, scientifically there is no real benefit.
