Not the best preparation for Wales, pumped 3-0 by France then held to a 0-0 by the might of Albania. They need to get off to a good start next Saturday or they might be in trouble
Didnt see it but by all accounts did ok 2nd half. Never read much into friendlies though, just match practise. Think they are good enough to get out of the group.

It's not like Wales put out their full side for 60 minutes and that is always going to hurt when the strength and depth isn't that great. Seems like James wasn't even in the squad which is a worry.

Can’t see Wales progressing, I just think they’re lacking the cutting edge, which was shown today against Albania, who to their respect are a side who are well organised, and defensive.

But they’ll need Bale, Ramsey, James all firing if they’re going to do anything and I assume it’ll be Moore up top.

But watched the F1 today and it was 31c there, and Further seen that Turkey May have 16,000 In there.

Just think they’ll struggle.

Wales

We face a much harder group than we did at Euro 16, so it will be a successful tournament if we can reach the knockout stage. A run to the semi-finals might be a dream too far this time.

Everyone will be looking to Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey to come alive at the tournament and show their quality but one of the youngsters who has broken into the team over the last couple of years might surprise a few. My pick would be Neco Williams to shine.

The majority of Wales fans are just happy that we are at the Euros and will enjoy the tournament (albeit mainly from home). It’s still only our second major tournament in recent times, so there is still that novelty factor. However, after the success of Euro 16, expectations will be a little higher. My heart says quarter-finals but, with a younger and less experienced squad, my head says we will do well to reach the last 16.

Wales are a decent side but all this chicanery with Giggs can't have helped the prep
Totally agree. Their temporary manager is not up to it imo.

THe squad has a selection of good players. Defence looks a bit weak

Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace), Danny Ward (Leicester City), Adam Davies (Stoke City).

Defenders: Tom Lockyer (Luton Town), Ben Davies (Tottenham), Joe Rodon (Tottenham), Chris Mepham (Bournemouth), Chris Gunter (Charlton Athletic), Rhys Norrington-Davies (Sheffield United), Neco Williams (Liverpool), Connor Roberts (Swansea City), Ben Cabango (Swansea City).

Midfielders: Joe Allen (Stoke City), Joe Morrell (Luton Town), Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea), David Brooks (Bournemouth), Matthew Smith (Manchester City), Jonny Williams (Cardiff City), Aaron Ramsey (Juventus), Dylan Levitt (Manchester United), Rubin Colwill (Cardiff City).

Forwards: Kieffer Moore (Cardiff City), Harry Wilson (Liverpool), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Tyler Roberts (Leeds United), Dan James (Manchester United).

Merely highlights how English clubs like ourselves have failed when it comes to bringing in talent from Wales and Scotland and developing them properly

United get a pass though considering how good a job they've done with that James

If the talent is there it'll be playing. There aren't exactly a dearth of top Welsh & Scottish talents in the PL are there?

Tierney, Robertson, Gilmour... that's about it.

Wales have a knack of playing and getting results beyond expectations. 2016 was wonderful, and expectations were in some ways satisfied this time by just reaching the finals. Beating Turkey would seem to be essential to get out of this group, a 3rd place qualifier will do , then who knows when it comes to the knockout stages. A last hurrah maybe for some of the older stars, mixed in with the younger legs of the likes of Ampadu, Brooks, James, Wilson looking to make names for themselves. It’s what Tournament Football is all about, having one or two underdog teams adding interest to a tournament , while at least two of the bigger names fail to make a mark.
