Looking forward to their game against Belgium. Austria showed up some of their weaknesses I think. They're beatable IMO.

What were their weaknesses? I thought Austria defended really deep and their CBs had storming games to hold Italy out. For me that's not really weakness.

I thought Austria looked the better side against them in the 2nd half. Pressed them well in midfield and got at their defence a little bit.

A real little bit. Austria were better in the second half but I wouldn't say they were particularly threatening aside from the offside goal. For me the issue for Italy was the redundancy of having Verratti and Jorginho playing at the same time and I think doing that again could leave Italy ineffective going forward as they were for stretches of that game.

Yeah maybe. But I think stronger sides than Austria would've seen that game and taken some encouragement anyway. Italy did well in the end though and have a deep squad to switch things up if plan A isn;t working.
