Let's see how if Woy has the balls to drop Sterling,Lallana and Kane for Vardy,Rashford and Barkley/Wilshere for the Wales game
And herein lies the problem with Hodgson. What sort of manager faces calls to swap out 3 of his starting XI for the second game? Theoretically the team should be pretty much set, and the squad serves to cover injuries, suspensions and impact subs. The idea of replacing 3 players cos they're woefully underperforming speaks volumes about the squad taken to the tournament.

Kane deserves to be there, but it wasn't quite on for him tonight. Sterling and Lallana probably shouldn't have even been on the plane, especially the former.

Actually think so too. If Milner and wilshire are ahead of Ross then that basically ends his tournament.

Rushford shouldn't really be there let's be honest. 3 months experience, it's Walcott all over again.

Barkley is behind Lallana, Ali, Wilshire, Milner and now Rooney who can all play his position.

Rashford may get 10 minutes as a last ditch gamble but well behind Kane, Rooney, Sturridge.

Don't see why he would.....he decided to play Sterling and lallana after a full season of doing nothing, so one more game shouldn't affect their England spots......

I wonder is Woy even aware Leicester won the league....

Kanes issue is that the team wasn't set up to use him as a striker. Actually extremely poor tactics in hindsight that the wingers were the ones in the box and kane was always somewhere else.

You would think the sheer basics of preparation would have been creating chances for kane to get on to, not for him to create.

Agreed Redknapp would attack more but he is a bit naive defensivly imo. Wouldnt have Allardyce, yes he could defend but he wouldnt cut it at international level, again imo

International ball tends to be a lower level than top tier club footie really. Big Sam would do very well for you guys I think.

On a side note.

All this trouble from English fans going on. I wonder how many of them are actual ticket holders and how many of them are just yobs who jumped on the eurostar to get drunk and cause trouble for a laugh?
Or both.

Genuinely concerned for a work colleague who's down there right now. He's a top notch straight up bloke, and I hope he's not inadvertently got himself embroiled in any of this.

We could spend the remainder of the evening drawing up a dossier of Hodgson's mishandling of the England team & squad. The guy is a complete disaster.

Are I understand Ross being behind the current ones. He wasn't very good the last few months of the season, mainly through being tired and dier with Ali were still title chasing midfielders. But as an impact sub, same as vardy, he can bring so much to change a game in a instant.

Agreed.
The first half - average. The second half - turgid.
For the equaliser - the two central defenders were ball-watching. One should have been picking up the big guy who knocked in the equaliser. The attack was not over. Instead, they were both drawn towards the ball on the Russian left. If Stones or Jags was on the pitch, they would have been blamed for not picking up the attacker instantly. I hope none of our players get on the pitch in this tournament, for the simple reason that I don't want to see/hear them get slaughtered by a biased media. Let them continue to slobber over Lallana & Sterling. Only surprise was that the Goon from the Toon didn't get a game...
I think you are being a little bit harsh with your criticism of the England performance. Personally I thought it was an excellent start to Englands Euro campaign. I'm WELSH

Barkley and Rashford will play 0 minutes this tournament.

Yep obvious from tonight Barkley has no chance of playing...

Don't think he's had a good season, but that being said , Hodgson is like an agent for the Big Clubs.....if you play for the bigger clubs, even if your no good, you'll get picked for England....even Stones being left out tonight is probably Woys way of telling him he needs to join City or Chelsea his summer...
