Whatever any positives there may be, the plain truth is that a very average England team couldn't beat a VERY poor Russian side. That's the top and bottom of it!

Do you ever see Muller or Gomez taking freekicks and corners, they would if Woy was the manager.
I almost want England to go out at the groups just to put an end to Hodgsons reign, clueless after 3 tournaments.
He's done nothing that was not going to happen anyway regarding bringing young players through.Might happen regardless, FA apparently are going to discuss his future after the tournament. Think he's done well bringing through players and phasing out the old guard (think Rooney and Milner might be the last two from that group) but I do feel we need a fresh younger manager to take us on to the next World Cup and beyond
Not for long. What's the difference?, still English aren't they?.....
Thousands of fans from other countries travelling to France with and without tickets, and no reports of any trouble....
Loved that moment when he was free in the box as a high ball came down to him. Being naive I expected a 50 million pound player to be able to control it.Sterling is an absolute joke of a player, how that guy is a £50m Man City regular is beyond me.
Runs about like a headless chicken, has no delivery, can't shoot, doesn't even seem to torment the full backs that much (considering pace is his biggest asset).

Look up this idiot singing Sloop John B on youtube. You will laugh so much you ache.
i saw wales became the first british team to win their opening game at a european championship.
surely, that meant their first EVER game at a euros. Surely england have won their opening EURO game at some point?
Nope 1:1 with the Swiss apparentlyNot necessarily.
Without checking and just off the top of my head.
The Euros have only been played in tournament from since either 1976 or 1980.
England failed to qualify for at least two of those tournaments.....and of those we have gone to, I can recall quite a few bad results in the first game.
What about Euro 96?
Did we win our first game then?

Milner was a joke of a substitute
