The whole team set-up is a mess.

Trippier at left-back, albeit not played particularly badly, just offers nothing high up the pitch when Foden, predictably, comes narrow. TAA needs bombing out of the midfield obviously. Kane needs to remain higher up the pitch and central. Occupy the centre-halves and, maybe, take them for a walk deep occasionally. But there has to be runners going beyond him.

A group of players with the talent this current lot have can't play as badly as that and not expect people to be confused/annoyed about it?

The manager is terrible and he always has been. We don't have a prayer of beating any of the top teams with these sort of tactics and performances.

Maybe they aint that good? England never seem to be able to pick a team to fit into a system, they just tend to overload with their supposed best players shoehorning them in however they can.

Every single tournament it happens. Getting out the group is the objective for now, they have pretty much done that whilst picking up a dull draw against the groups second best team. It's pretty standard stuff.

England are boring, actually, British football is boring unless it is being played against other British teams. They shouldn't really be walking away with the group regardless. Hardly any nation does.

We don’t always have great players. Usually at least a few very good ones, though.

The current squad is the best in my lifetime. I think it’s fair to say Southgate isn’t getting the most out of them so far this tournament.
